From what I understand there exist a world other than what we are currently living in. Does this mean there's another "me"? I've heard of rings and loops associated to this world but I still can't comprehend all of this. Wishing to be enlightened..

hm mm... from what I've seen in one of the Justice League's episode and Jet Li's The One, a parallel universe is the same us ours, the same you, the same them and etc. etc... or the opposite of you, us, them etc. etc. i can't fully explain this but you get the idea. this is just a science fiction thing but it's very intriguing. can you imagine another world where your other you exist? wow... daaaaaaang! what if i'm gay there or a hemophiliac? craaaazy...
good day! :)

As far as my understanding goes: Parallel Universes are composed of the complements of the probability that something is true in our own as "reality". Thus whatever that was probable but didn't happen at any instant of consideration, in this Universe of ours, but was equally probable, would have happened in some Universe(a Space-Time) Now, just as all probailities will sum to ONE, the "sum total" must be "THE REALITY". Hence taken singly none of 'em is the reality, only a relative truth.
But, this hypothesis looks more like a "fond wish" given the shape of a tentative hypothesis on the basis of a popular branch of Mathemneatics! Anyway one can't do without Math once you cross the real world of 3-D and Time as an "experienced" reality to the ones considered as the higher dimensions. Right from the concept of a 4D-continuum your only beacon light is Math and your own modelling imagination.

I will try to put in a simpler way. You know, you are here in, say, this Universe. You are tossing a coin. There are two possibilities and only two. Then if heads really turns up in your Universe, then the conjecture of Parallel Universe, is that there is another Universe in which there is a copy of you, with the same coin turning tails up! Now, taken it in this way, everything that has independent existence, spawns or points to Universes. It might seem intractably infinite Universes will have to be posited to take care of all the possibilities in every thing. But once you take dependencies into consideration the "infinity" might reduce to become a countable one. But I do not see any use in engaging in this study unless there is a way for moving from one world to another!

Hi!
It's an interesting concept and great mental exercise, but there are no set parameters. It's sort of a philosophical construct, and, as such, not fully able to be explained.

I like to think of the world as a series of infinite dimensions, and that each dimension is reflected on the choices and consequences of the human beings. An example, while at a restaurant your waiter asks you if you would like soup or salad with your meal. You hesitate, but order soup, and your life proceeds from there. Another dimension may be exactly the same as this one, except in that dimension you chose the salad. If you follow along with this theory, in another dimension John McCain is the current United States president, and in yet another the Holocaust never happened.
