Friends I have the habit of enjoying my first cup of tea with newspaper, that is published from my city, in my local language Oriya, I get the latest local news here. Next I surf the news channels in TV for national and international news. Do you read news papers or just see in TV? What you do with the old papers? Last Sunday I sold five months papers, it fetched me 25 rupees only @ rupees five per kilogram , but we pay 85 rupees for one month supply. How much you pay there for a month supply? If you sell , what price it fetches? Please share. Professor

I used to read the newspaper on a regular basis, but these days because of the fact that I have the internet at my house and our local newspaper and also our local news channels all have websites I decided that I didn't want to incur the cost of having the newspaper delivered to my house. So, I catch the vast majority of my news through the computer and I will also occasionally watch some news on the television.

My newspapers reading is done at late morning hours or day time. I give first priority to TV-Channels in the morning for news! Besides important news, my area of interest in newspapers is the selected articles, both political as well as cultural. I have the habit to scan over one local (The Samaj) and one national (Times of India) newspapers Daily. Like yours case these are sold at four-half to five rupees per kg here to make an amount below a hundred rupees in around five months (Just for 750gms of fish)! I think, these newspapers enrich our minds first and then when sold, enrich our body if I purchase some fish with it!! Thanks for this pleasant discussion Sir and I feel glad for responding your topic after some days!!

well thats definitely a habit tech geeks don't have. i guess you have been doing that for decades. i personally don't see the point in newspapers now that we have 24/7 news along with the internet. i don't see it lasting much longer.

I have no interest in reading news papers when I am enjoying my first cup of tea. In fact, I hold the idea both TV and newspapers are out of date gradually. Although there are still lots of people read newspapers or watch TV after work, with the development of the Internet, we can gain the latest news by surfing the Internet. If I have some old newspapers, I tend to donate them and hope those people who can't connect the Internet can get them.

Yes, I like to read the newspaper every morning at breakfast, but I avoid the bits with the bad news until later in the day. Strangely enough I go straight to the cartoon page first to see if there is something that will make me smile as I like to start my day with a smile. I watch TV news later on during the day, usually at lunchtime, but it doesn't seem such good news these days, always being warned about this or that that may or may not happen. I guess it's a challenge for me to become more detached.. _Derek

No sir, I don't have the habit of enjoying my first cup of tea with newspaper but my hubby does it. I am busy in kitchen and hardly get time to sip my tea. Here we are buying the English daily (yes our local language newspaper is available in this place but bit costlier and pages are also less) only. We are buying the local language newspaper occasionally. Now the newspaper is available in net and we can read the same from net and know about the news in our native place. Regarding selling the newspaper, I think here the cost is more than your place. Last time we sold the newspaper rupees 9 per kg. After the ban of plastic the old newspaper is in high demand.

With the hectic work nowadays, my means of getting the latest news about the country is TV and net. Instead of newspaper, my coffee partner is the early news on TV about what happened the other day, about the latest talk of the town and if I am at work, I can use the net to see what's new. When I got homw from work, I watch late night news but not often since whenever I come home, I am so tired that all I can do is just sleep.

Hi professor, i too like to read newspapers along with my morning cup of tea.I too read the local newspaper in Kannada and also Times of India.I cannot do without this routine. The old papers are my maids responsibility. She collects them and bottles and other junk that sells and gives it to the man who comes to buy them.it is her pocket money, and she loves the haggling and all else connected with the selling lol

Hello, I have the habit of reading newspapers.I usually read THE HINDU newspaper which is in English language.I spend half an hour in reading the newspaper. Then in my leisure times,i used to surf the t.v channels.I think the value of English paper is high. But generally I don't have the habit of selling the newspapers.Because most of the newspapers help me to develop my knowledge.I sell some unnecessary newspapers.
