About M.A.C products? they are a big name in the makeup industry. I don't really understand how one company can really just out do all the rest... is it really that great that once you go M.A.C u never go back? are there any cheaper alternatives to MAC that can hold their own? I always see makeup artists doing tutorials on youtube, but they usually always use MAC products, I think the colors are generally pretty, but I would like to see other products used =/

This topic looks more like 'for girls only' since it's about make-up and all that stuff. But I know something and I want to share it with you. Drink fresh fruit juices, get some good sleep regularly, know your skin and wash it with fresh water using a good quality soap, and there you go! You don't need any of those make-up things! You'll have this natural beauty on your face. You look hot in the display picture anyway.

i agree starting out with a pretty face is definitely what we all strive for. Makeup can clog pores and everything else and lead to break outs so proper skin care is def. a requirement to at least my own daily beauty care. Thanks for posting!

I don't use MAC. I have eczema. It breaks me out right along with Mary Kay, Almay, Physician's Formula and Neutragena. There are other expensive ones I've tried, but I don't have time or money to experiment unless I can get samples first. . . and they didn't give out samples... so I stopped spending.
I use Elizabeth Arden skincare products, cocoa butter, Curel and a couple of Avon lotions in addition to my prescriptions.
As far as makeup goes, I can use Cover Girl, Avon, Elizabeth Arden AND the Mary Kate and Ashley line of makeup. Unreal, but true. I like the MK & A makeup right along CG. None of the above products listed in this second paragraph break me out. I used Clinique for a while, and Merle Norman, but they reformulated the products I used or either discontinued them. Either way I wasn't able to use them anymore. *shrug* I CAN use the NYC eyeliners and mascaras, but avoid venturing into the rest.

aye i tried NYC eyeliners and was really disappointed lol. i got a white one and a black one, the black showed up but smeared, and the white one didn't show up unless it was melted and then i accidentally got it in my eye D= ha ha. i would like to experiment with Avon products for sure cause i know they are pretty well recognized. Thanks for posting!

They are pretty good actually, but sadly pretty expensive. So yeah, I would say that they deserve their good rep. but there are some cheaper alternatives as well. Personally, I used to like Maybelline, but their colors are not nearly as good. But you really should try at least one MAC product in your life, the difference is huge!

oh most def, their eye shadows are stunning really. I will invest in them one day when i have more cash ha ha. I'm wondering if products like urban decay or really any other brand holds a candle to the quality standards mac has set...

Several years ago I had never tried M.A.C makeup and lots of my friends told me how great it was. I had received a few gift cards to a store that sells M.A.C and had a makeover and then bought several items. Yes it is expensive but it really is better than buying makeup at Target or the grocery store. It stays on better and it does last a long time, so over time the money works itself out I guess.
