I'm giving birth to my first child this October, I'm very excited and scared at the same time because I have no experience in baby sitting. I'm sure I'm going to be a wonderful mother though :) I can feel it in my heart and I'm trying to learn the basics of changing diapers, feeding, and stuff... If you have any advice for me, Please let me know. Your thoughts are well appreciated :)

I have got three children and I became a first time mom when I was 22 years old. I had my second baby when I was 34 years old and my third baby when I was 36 years old. I have had three home births and I used a water pool in my first labor. I think that an active and natural birth can be wonderful. I always buy 0 to 3 month old clothing and not newborn clothing. It is lovely to buy things for the baby in that last trimester. Your baby will need somewhere to sleep like a crib or a cot. He or she will need a way of getting around like a stroller that is suitable from birth,. He or she will need bedding. He or she will need clothes and the most useful are sleep suits. Good luck with your baby's birth and you are going to be an excellent mom.

Hi,
Congratulation...being a first-time mother.
Don't be so nervous..stay calm and let's nature takes course.
When the time comes, you will be able to cope it up.
I am a mother of one little boy and my son is 3.5 years
old now. When I got my pregnancy news confirmed, I was bit shocked and
asking myself, Am I ready to be a mother of SOMEONE?
ANyway, I was pregnant and I want this child.
So, I started to eat more nutrition food, but too bad I don't have
much appetite for the first trimester. Can't eat much and can't take those
fried foods.
When comes to second trimester, my appetite gets better and slowly I can
eat well again till I gave birth.
I did get nervous on how to handle the baby, changing diapers, feeding(morning and
night feeding),cope with sleepless night,etc...However,nothing can change
the fact. I have to handle it myself and can't avoid from this fact.
I read some parenting books, get to know more about baby stuffs and parenting.
I also get some knowledge from my friends,my mother-in-law,my mother and my sister.
They shared with me their experiences and it is definitely a useful guide for me
for my motherhood life.
When come to labouring pain, I can't describe to your the pain..it is definitely pain and no way to escape from it. At last, I chose for C-section due to labour pain and I am lack of strength to push my baby out.
During my confinement, I was glad to have my mother-in-law with me for the whole
month .She is also my confinement lady.
My sleepless night started for the first two months and slowly I can handle it
myself well and now, I have get used to my motherhood life.
Don't worry too much..you sure can handle it.
Wish you have a smooth delivery!! Takecare..

thank you so much for sharing your story... I'm very close to my due date now and i stared buying baby stuff and gears. I'm still a bit worried about labor because my OB said my baby girl is quite big. We are hoping to have normal delivery. Thank you for wishing me well... I bought a book a while ago on how to care for a baby from birth to age 1, I'm hoping that with help from my mom and sister in law, I should be okay. :)

Just do not worry, having a baby beautiful experience and touching your child for the first time is the most magical thing on earth. When a child is born so is a mother born. so it is a first time for both of you. Just follow your instinct, when it comes to your child, what ever anyone says, always do what you think is right, because no one know a child better than his or her mother. Just relax, have fun and think positve things, talk to your baby and you will see it respond to you even while it is in the stomach. Best of Luck!
