What can you say about Manny Paquiao's job on congress at the moment? I was really surprised on his comment on the privilege speech last week! And I am surprised too that no one has made any discussions about it here on mylot. Of all the congressmen out there that is banging on each other about former president's performance and the new president's plans, he is the only one who stood up and said that they shouldn't waste their time on discussing those things in the privilege speech. There should be a right forum for it whether it is the truth commission or whatever it is. Instead they should do their jobs as congressman and make laws.
I must admit that I am guilty of judging him even before he got the seat on congress. But now I am open to change my view about him. And I am happy to be proven wrong!
How about you? What can you say about the champ?

he stand out when he said that , there really should be a right forum about the speculations of arroyo , but i am not pro pacquiao or anti pacquiao i jz want to share my opinion about him into congress, yeah its not bad to serve the country its a good thing that they are willing to help filipinos that is why they got the position , but seeing the outside view is it really to help or is it because of what the benefits they can get to it , i dont wana think that he is taking advantage but for that is what i feel he is a boxing champion the number one , but why need to go on politics if you can help in so many ways without going into politics , if i remember before he is part of arroyos club now that aquino is the president ofcourse he will be bias and tried to stay quiet about arroyo 's illegal matter because he used to be the side of her and now he is a congress, he get into politics because maybe the influence around him, he got so much money now maybe billions lol, so many ppol would like to be close to him , partner with him he got the funds thats what it is for .but im happy for him he got the position of congress but lets see what will happen, its only the beginning of the road will see in the long run before i can say that he really made a good choice .

i believe it's arroyo who wants to get close to him, knowing she always praises him and probably wanted him part of the team. am sure and hope one day manny won't take any sides as time goes by. despite that i don't agree him fighting again, I love seeing him more doing serious stuff in congress.

i guess if he studies hard about the policies and laws and put his heart into making his area clean and productive i dont see anything wrong if he is a congressman.the only thing that makes a bad politician is if he doesnt care about his countrymen, taking profit for himself and watch his people go into poverty.dont care if he has a doctorate, multiple degrees, valedictorian or soma com laude.whatever.or just a highschool graduate.if he is has a good heart then he will do good for his country.

Hello damned,
It's his first time in Congress, what can you expect of course, he's there to do something and frankly, he was very disappointed with how the congress discuss things which are not in terms to making laws that would help the Filipino people. maybe there is hope for this manny pacquiao after all, i don't really know how he can do it but i hope he will be a shining beacon to other old timer law makers.

Yeah but he surprised me, if not shocked! Just like I said I am not expecting anything like that from him! Ofcourse I know that he used to be pro GMA, but atleast he did not defend her, instead he found a way to invalidate the privilege speech of other co congressman that is trying to make the most of their "privilege" speech!

Hi there again.:)
I have not watched that. Too bad... but I was able to caught a glimpse of the later news that he was able to pacify two parties that had heated argument during that session.I told my husband that Manny is a peace maker as a politician as well as a boxer.
This is too early to say anything about him but for a start he is doing well. I hope he will be able to keep on and that he will not be eaten by the system in politics. let's keep our fingers crossed and give the man a chance. :)

I was surprised too. He is a fighter and is use to taking sides, but this time he was the voice of reason in Congress. And he made sense too! I did not like the fact that they were once again wasting time on matters that are only important to them and left the job that they were suppose to do and were voted for in the side. Like you, I may have been mistaken in my early judgments of him. I thought he was only good in boxing.

Maybe he's trying his best to become a no-nonsense rep. Let's give him some time to prove himself. I think it's better if he's this way rather not not doing anything. I say he should keep it up so that the people who voted for him will not regret doing so.

manny may be lacking experience and the education to be a lawmaker, but his heart is always willing, like the way he always be in any endeavor he choses so I sure he will make a good one.
that the best thing about achiever they will always strive harder to leave a trail of greatness.

For me, we should not judge the person by what we see Remember, "an old book is better than a new book"!!!
Pacquaio maybe has no knowledge regarding what congress is, but i do believe that pacquaio has a common sense that not every people has.

I really do not know. I think it is nice of you to take notice. I have not heard or read about the privilege speech but since the election campaign, each time I see his face of TV I change channel or each time I see his name in print, I turn the page.
I am biased but anything is possible for anybody. It still remains to be seen through actual achievements that would benefit the people outside of the boxing arena.
