Why is incest wrong?

Inbreeding leads to congenital birth defects. This happens because of an increase in the frequency of homozygotes. The recessive genes, which produce birth defects become more frequent. Further, the genes that do not code for birth defects increase within a population. If the population is small the children born with heritable birth defects die early. In larger populations it is more likely that large numbers of carriers will survive and mate, leading to more constant rates of birth defects. The degenerative effects of inbreeding will only be significantly fatal after two or more repeated incest cases. A study has shown that the children born out of incestuous relationship tend to have abnormalities that are classed as severe. This is the reason society precludes incestuous relationship.

it is wrong scientifically and religious.in science it is wrong because both siblings genes will not survive.the baby will not be as strong as a baby from two different persons.and religious because from the teachings siblings shouldnt be allowed to mate.

None of us are perfect and we all have some faulty genes. The problem with inbreeding is that two faulty genes inherited by the offspring of a closely related couple may make the problem even worse. While it is illegal for humans we do it all the time with animals in order to produce an animal with some characteristic that we wish to have. However a lot of these so called pedigree animals do have inherited faults. I am not sure that it is always a great disaster as the people who live on Pitcarne Island all come from a very small number of sailors who mutinied with Fletch Christian and they may have some problems but seem reasonably healthy.

Man even thinking about this gross me off. its bad for future generation to hear this. this type of inbreeding is bad as a human at least we do have some natural rule that we must abide.its weird and twisted too how human minds work. who knows. but still the fact that doing taboo things with any older persons is yuk.

its just wrong in general i mean its clearly wrong if it increases babys birth defects, God is telling you something, like its not a coincidence. Everyone's decision is up to themselves but 6 billion plus ppl on this earth do you really have to fall in love with your sibling??

hi. i think other than congenital defects. just imagine eating your own flesh, isn't it so desperate act?we are not animals, God gave us complete brains,s o let's use it. as humans we should have proper ethics and act with dignity

It is wrong for medical reasons. There are chances of birth-defects. Besides there are institutions in the house like father, mother who can be respected only.
