My sleep schedule has really been wreck this year. I had a junior practicum that made me get up at 5:00 am once a week for four months. I stayed with a 5-5:30 am schedule every weekday for four months. At those times, I was going to bed between 8pm-10pm every week night. Now, it's summer and I'm unemployed. I used to stay up later and go to sleep very later. I've had a few job interviews and now I want to go to bed early. What time do you get up and what time do you go to sleep? Do you take naps during the day?

Hello smartie0317,
When I taught middle school, My alarm was set for
5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. I was in Bed by 10 p.m.
In the summer months, I tried to stick to a decent
schedule because September comes fast.
Did you hear about the new research? The Study states
that people need exactly 7 hours of sleep to prevent
cardiovascular disease. No more. or less than 7 hours
of sleep.
Interesting. Try to keep a balance. :)

I never saw this study. That's interesting. Are they saying more than seven hours of sleep is bad for you or just that it's not needed?

I think your sleeping arrangement is not health, all because you are not get a full time job.I know you are unemployed right now. i assume that you get great pression in your life.
Let's me give you some suggestion. As you are a teacher, you can do something on line.I am a chinese girl , before I try many ways to get in touch with those people who are native English speakers.I need their help to correct my English. I guess you don't know lerning English is very popular in china, because good English means job opportunities.you can teaching English on the internet to earning some money .If you are interested in that ,you can send an email to me. janehe0816@gmail.com.
Good luck to you!

I slept at around 12 to 1 am every night. I wake up at 7am the latest and I don't take my nap. Well, to tell the truth, it is tiring. I work at 8am until 5pm, sometimes I work overtime till 8pm or more. Almost everyday I come home at 8 to 9pm at night after work. I rarely going home at 6pm.
So, I usually take my whole Sundays to take a rest. To sleep a lot. And as long as I want.
I wish I could get more sleep.. but it seems so hard to be true.

I have a habit of sleeping before 12:00 pm. If I didn't go to bed before 12:00pm, I would be exited again that I could hardly fall asleep till 2:00am. I don't know whether you guys have a problem like that.

it's actually 6:20am here in the Philippines and i'm still up. if no one bothers me when i'm snoozing, 5-6 hours of sleep would be enough for me. it's very difficult to fix your body clock. i had the same problem as yours a few months ago. i cured it by not sleeping for 24 hours. lol!

No naps for me I feel useless and like i'm wasting time if i nap during the day, its summer and i work part time i usually go to bed 9 or 10 but sometimes i'll end up talking to a friend and my bedtime gets pushed back to 11 i wake up around 8 or 9 i don't use an alarm clock because those things always shock you out of your sleep and i dont like to be shocked out of my sleep it throws your whole balance off and makes you feel tired.

I don't have fix time to go to bed. I go when ever i feel like sleeping. But some time if interesting things are going on, i never feel like going to bed. So in this situation i go to bed at late night.

7 hours a day of sleep is good for our health .I know that but it's really too hard for me to get up early, even I'm in summer .Usually, I get up at 9a.m, eat something then check my email, then I start to cook lunch for my family.Afternoon I come to university and go home about 6p.m.After dinner is time for working and reading book, then I go to bet at early 11 30.I think I need to try to create a decent schedule.Recent days I have felt my health is getting down

I have to say for the last 2 years or so my biorhythm and sleeping time is totally wrecked, because when I wouldn't have school I'd stay up late till 3 in the morning and then sleep till like 2 or 4pm, or if I'd wake up earlier I'd still take naps during the day, so I still have problems with that now and usually can't fall asleep before it's 'my hour', though I think if you need to wake up and go to sleep at a certain time and if you do go, after a few days your biorhythm should get back on track. Maybe not completely, but with time it works.
As for the normal sleep time I think 11pm tops. If you gotta wake up before 5 am, 10pm would be even smarter to go to bed if you wanna get some quality sleep and avoid being tired at work or at school and wanna be well rested and in better mood.
