why do our chinese students always have lots of homework to do ?

we are in summer vacation.and our teachers gave us too much homework and pressure.we can not play well in any short or long vacation.i am going to be a grade 3 student.our school decided to have other classes on summer vacation when the vacation started.and before the semter begin,we also have to go to the school to study and have tests,then,a parents meeting is waiting for us.the most heinous is our school tell us this thing is "volunteer"so if we want to join then we have to write a volunteer application.if we do not join the other classes the teacher will take with you and "help"you finish your volunteer application.in ohter school if you do not wriet it you weii be expulsion!although,luckily,we do not need pay for it.but most school's students have to do!

aha,I am Chinne too.And I am s college student.YEs,I have that same experiences(LOL).JUST you know,this situation in China is popular very much.Personaly speaking this is useful for us student,this can improve our programm skill.Maybe you will think when ya go to university that will be pressureless,but you know?maybe will more hard,what's more university is hard to gongratulate in abroad.

my teacher is always saying:"working hard,or you will not go to a good university,if you can not go to a good university,you will not get a good job,if you won't get a good job,you can not get money to buy something you like.so working hard!woring hard!working hard!"I CAN NOT STAND!!

I am in the US so I really cannot compare it to any other country except to say that homework is to continue to stimulate the brain with yet more knowledge.
It probably seems unfair but one day you will appreciate all the knowledge you gained.

I can understand you quite well because I was a student before. In the past I also felt the study pressure was very heavy. And this situation doesn't get better today. Perhaps it just gets worse and worse. The homework and lessons already occupy most of the students' time. It is quite tiring. Unfortunately it doesn't mean that we really learn something useful.

i agree with you. i always have plenty of homeworks on holiday kind of annoy. and i'm in the same grade with you. i have to go to school to have exam during the summer vocation. but what can we do. the reality is that we should try our best to go to university .
