Don't let any one use your Mylot Account....

Hello lotters, this is something that caught my attention after that discussion was deleted, since a friend of mine was a good plagiarist buster I try to look to it in the terms of use but some how i only need to remind people that. USING OTHER PEOPLE'S MYLOT ACCOUNT IS VIOLATION either i forgot some but i remembered two cases of this thing. one, we thought that user was using his username but it happened to be that the spouse was using it all along which revealed later. and then afew days ago, our friend here busted a few for three of four plagiarism issues that really pissed people a bit off. then, finally he admitted, he let his son post topics but the boy didn't knew that plagiarism was wrong. if you don't want to be accountable in plagiarism, then log out before some one else use your account..

I allow my kids to use The Mylot Search Bar but i my instructions are very clear -- they should not intervene with any discussion.

Hello mr.fdg, still you're allowing your kids to use your account, be careful there or admin might look at you more often than it should. yeah, see what happened to that mylotter, his star went down,it was sad. it's a lesson for all of us here.

Thanks for pointing that out to let others know about this issue. I happen to read that post and know it would deleted soon, so it did. We are solely responsible for our account and it is clearly stated in the FAQs and guidelines what to do and what not to do. Plagiarism is truly not acceptable here and elsewhere and should not be tolerated by any means. That is why were told "one account per person" to avoid issues such as that 3 copyrighted posts yesterday. Best of luck.

Hello Meeming, yeah, it was. i pity this person that was accountable for this. i am sure he's a bit depressed now for this incident but it's still wrong, i hope he doesn't do this again. he hasn't been online since that time. there was also guy from china who did this, he lost his account after that. too bad because he had gone a long way to loose his whole account.

As a responsible mylotter, one should not treat mylot as a cheap platform to allow others to post and pretend that someone has sneaked into the account unknowingly. I think this is a lame excuse when caught red handed. Someone is bold enough to highlight the mistake done on purpose and it should warn those intending plagiarist not to make a mockery of this place. Mylot police are all over and no one can escape their watchful eyes.

Hello zandi, the trouble is what happens if the plagiarizer is from outside mylot who copied our discussions. as for that last guy, am sure he was depressed being nailed down for such violation. i hope he comes back alright some day. plagiarist and trolls won't last a month on this site, that's for sure.

LetranKnight25, We are solely responsible for our own account, so whatever happens - even if it was being used fraudulently or plagiarize or conduct unbecoming. I do not see the admin giving any chance when it's like leaving a loaded weapon on the table without anyone tending to it. Negligence is also a wrongdoing and whatever happens with it, will hold us equally responsible. So, I have to agree with you here that people should be careful especially when the computer is being shared at home. Prevention is always better than cure.

Hello Skysuccess, I don't think there would be a cure if the person's account is deleted. i know, i waited for three months and nothing happened. am glad that i learned my lesson so hard that i didn't wish for another fight.we are sole responsible since it's called MY-LOT and not theirs-Lot. i hope my friend doesn't encounter this again.

My daughter just joined here and Facebook. I'm not sure if it was here or there, but she did accidentally leave a comment from my account instead of hers. I'm so used to leaving myself logged in, and now I can't do that any more...

I came across a guy who allowed a friend to post on his account and was not very happy with the result and, as I recall neither were a lot of MyLotters! We suspected the post sounded out of character for this person and it was confirmed when the original member started a discussion apologising for his ‘friend’! Good lesson learned; he won’t be doing that again! Good reminder for everyone LetranKnight!

Hello Paula, that's right. these people are truly want into earnings and not discussions, otherwise, they wouldn't allow other people to use their accounts. i hope people would be aware of the rules or the terms of agreement, mylot is one of a kind i think. there's another but not as friendly looking like mylot.

Using other's account is wrong in the first place. Yes, Mylot is fun but don't take advantage of it's advantages.

Hello, Knight.:) I'm pretty sure my hubby would not wish to post something here using my account. He doesn't want to have another issue with me.LOL. So, I don't worry if I'm leaving the pc on with my Mylot account still open while he is using the computer. But, this is a good reminder especially if we are using a public computer. You will never know who'll use your account. Have a great weekend, Knight.:)

I think that it is wrong to let someone else use my mylot account. My hubby has his account and I have my account and we don't go into each other's accounts because our opinions differ anyhow. My son is too young yet to know how to post anything on the computer so that wouldn't be a problem for me. :)

of course i wouldn't let anyone use my account..I would rather let them use my computer to do their own thing in mylot, provided that they are my referral ;) anyways, it's been a while since i last posted something here. Been super busy with things. But, i still check my account from time to time and this one amused me.

Hi letranknight, that's a really good reminder for members here at mylot. Personally, I didn't even know letting someone use your account is a violation. Not that I have done that or planning to do that.lol Plus, plagiarism is really a serious offense. I really hope more and more people realizes that and stop copying others work and not giving proper credits to the original author.
