Tax on Cigerette in Philippines

Have you heard of it? They're going to put a huge amount of tax on cigs. Base on what I hear on news, they're planning it and waiting for the approval, the goal is to copy what Obama did. So it's gonna be Php 4.50 per stick, and I think 100+ for a pack. I do smoke, and I'm not against it, actually that will help me stop smoking. but to think that only cigs, why not put some taxes on alcohol too? cigs and beers are one, I mean most of people who drinks are smokers and the thing they need to increase the tax is to gather more money? or something? not sure. hehehe.. what do you think guys? I'm just saying, anyways, info's above are not exactly 100% because I didn't research this, I just heard it from news XD
