Hi sach143_u,
I use a LAN network which is also connected to the internet and the speed is nice and fast. Download speed reaches as much as 2mbps but the speed varies too. Basically this is provided us by the college and we use it in our rooms for almost free of charge. You can say it is similar to a broadband connection but not exactly any better. The best thing is that LAN. I have shared my computer with many others and so i can get anything i want with a local download speed of 12mbps. The LAN connection runs at 100mbps.

Friend then yours is too low compare to my network connection. I too using this BSNL broad band connection but the download speed is 186 to 213 kbs!!!!! I don't know why you are getting less downloading speed because yours is 512 kbps speed broadband and i am using only 256kbps speed broadband but the same service provider(BSNL).

i'm using WiFi most of the time. we don't own it, hehehe.. it's from somewhere nearby. sometimes we get a good connection like now.
sometimes i wired it. we have it here in the house but we only have one etherrnet cable so first come first serve. and we have to pay for it so i seldom use it. only when i need to download something. wireles connection is just fine with me.
