Mancini was close to signing from Aston Villa, although they are still sorting out the details of the deal in another two or three days. Do you think man city need so new players? or should man city manager let the player settle down and build a team spirit and teamwork. i think man city squad is good enough to compete for top 4 already.but the continuous signing of talented players cant win you the title. you need to build the clubs and players slowly like a family.

By buying some of the better players, what Man City is doing is to weaken their likely challengers for the top 4. Aston Villa will definitely be weaker without Milner. They have done the same to Arsenal the previous season. Why I say the top 4 and not the title, they have yet to disrupt the team of Chelsea and Man Utd.

I think the Milner signing is subject to the fact that Ireland would leave the club. Ireland is sticking out for a compensation of 2 million which City are reluctant to play. So we might end up Ireland stuck at City and Milner at Aston Villa. Then it would be a real irony as Martin O Neill quit Aston Villa due to the imminent sale of Milner!! Cheers! Ram

One thing Man City needs to learn is having 11 super stars does not make a team nor does 20, if the players don't gel then success can't be reached. I do think Man City is trying to build a super sub team that can compete to take the league regardless of how many injuries they pick up along the road. I say bring on the spending cap and this is going to be one really close season.
