I'm On My Way Out The Door...........Dammit The Phone Is Ringing

Have you ever had those little disruptions that drive you nuts because you feel it's a waste of your precious time? Things like just getting ready to walk out the door and the phone rings; it's a telemarketer. Or maybe spilling coffee on yourself and having to go back and change your clothes; now you're going to be late for work. I read an article a few days ago and it has really stuck in my head. One of those little bits of information you just can't seem to get rid of. What if all those little disruptions in your life had a purpose? The flat tire on the side of the highway puts you behind about 45 minutes. When you finally get back on the road you have to take a detour because there's a five car pileup just ahead. You would have been there. You're on the way out the door when the phone suddenly rings. You debate with yourself, "Should I go back?", and you do, it could be an emergency. It's a telemarketer trying to sell you a trip to the Islands. Now you're angry. You get back in the car and start for work; turn on the radio to listen to the traffic reports. Suddenly a News Bulletin. The bank where you work has just been held up and 2 employees are dead. You would have been there. You hear about things like this happening all the time and we just say it wasn't your time but what actually happened? Is it Karma? Is it fate? Maybe Lady Luck? Or did the Creator just step in? The article had this quote, "You are exactly where the Creator wanted you at that moment." What's your opinion? I'd really like to know.

Hi JudithP, Before I finished reading your discussion, I knew how I was going to answer with my response. You really have taken part of my answer here in your discussion, about fate and Karma, but I will carry on anyway. As life has taught me, for everything that happens there is a purpose. The flat tire, that made you late, the one that you were ranting an raving about, believing in Murphy's Law, the one that save you from been in a five car accident where most of the victims didn't survive, saved your life. One of those victims could have been you. It took me awhile to get to this point in my life, but I am very happy that I, one day had this epiphany, when things happen in my life I don't question why they are there (I really don't) I ask to be shown the purpose and the good to come from it. When I use that mindset, I never feel that a negative situation is a threat. I look for the diamond in the mud. Sometimes I have to get muddy, but I keep the faith, knowing that the diamond is there I, just have to keep searching for it. I would deny my faith if I said that I don't believe in devine intervention. I believe with all my soul, that there is such a thing. Traffic jams, missing the parking spot by second, dealing with nasty attitudes of customer service persons getting that flat tire that will make me late, etc. doesn't phase me in the least. I just remember to be thankful for whatever diaster I have just been saved from.

You've taken the words right out of my mouth. Everything happens for a reason. Mike and I are not city people but for a time we lived in Kitchener, Ontario. When Mike got sick with a rare heart disease we finally understood why we had to be there. There are only 3 doctors in all of Canada studying this disease and one of them was situated an hour and a half from where we lived. Because of this doctor and Mike they've been able to isolate the gene that causes the disease in the DNA. So do I believe? You bet your sweet little bippy I do.

Hi JudithP, What a beautiful testimony. We who believe never have to ask why, but sometimes we do.. The answer will be revealed, in due time. Blessing

I don't like to believe that things happen for a reason, that everything is random and coincidences but at times things happen that just makes you believe. I don't remember the proper incidents right now but things like you mentioned have happened. Wait, here's one though it isn't so big a deal. Yesterday i was about to dowload a movie from the last part in youtube. It just won't happen. I tried 2-3 times and every time somehow somewhere it got stuck so i downloaded from first. Later when i happen to see the 9th part before downloading and it was just the credits, no parts of movie. Ho! that saved be half an hour!

I don't believe that everything is random. We are here for a reason even though we may not know what that reason is at the moment.

Hello Judith, If you believed in your faith and that is one way of God's guidance, you will count it that way. Sometimes we cannot understand the ways of God's showing His love and care to us. Some misfortunes we think and considered as misfortunes, but at the end of it all,we realized the purpose why it has to happen (after a good result and regrets for blaming people, situation and even God for it) All we need is to think positively, like the phone rings as we are rushing to go to work. Like heavy traffic,or some accidents happen on the road that make us delay. Then, later we found out the results as a good riddance. We can consider as fate or good riddance. But what matters most is,we are spared from being one of the victim or it saved us from any harm. The fact is,it is GOD's way of delivering us from bad things. Happy Sunday and happy mylotting

I too believe that it's the Creators way of keeping us from harm because it's not our time just yet. We have more to accomplish and more to teach.

It can be the most annoying moment to close the door and hear the phone ringing. I always think it might be something important. What is really irritating is to hurry back inside and rush to the phone and it has stopped ringing. The answering machine is already taking the call. Then i have to decide if i go back out the door or return the call. It can be quite nervewracking.

Well I have to tell you I'll never get angry again because the phone is ringing at the wrong time. I'll answer the call and then thank the Creator for taking a few minutes of my time.

Yeah I think that I would be a bit mad if I had to go back to the phone and it was a telemarketer trying to sell me something that never is fun. Anyway I will always answer the phone cause I always feel that could be somebody trying to contact me about something important. Oh well can't really blame the telemarketers I feel that they just are doing their job.

I realize that telemarketers are doing their job but they always call at the most inopportune moment. Or so I thought until I read the article.

Hi JudithP Yes I also believe in those little disruptions. They are saying that our Angel or the Great Creator is doing something to prevent anything bad happening to us. Liek what happened to those people who survived the 911 bombings. There were disruptions done to their lives that day that is why they are alive today.

You probably read the same article that I did. That's what got me thinking about all of this in the first place. It just proves that miracles happen every day.
