My sister got a new mattress from a friend of hers. She gave me her mattress that was smaller in new condition. Boy did she get bed bugs. I could not imagine my body looking like hers. She was bit all over her body. I know she is moving and needs bed for her daughter. I hope she can save to buy a new bed. I was told a store by me sells mattresss with bed bugs in it. What did you do when you had this?.......Have a blessed day!

I would HATE to have bed bugs. I have never had this problem but I know that if I found out that bed bugs were in my room then I would clean the heck out of anything. I have a weird problem that if there is a little spider in my room, feels like the whole room is dirty. Yuck. So I wouldn't be able to stand bed bugs.

Linda4ualways,
I really hope that your sister could prove that the shop that sold her the mattress has bed bugs in their store, so that she can get a new mattress without having to fork out any money.
Besides, the shop should also be responsible for any medical consultations and treatments due to bug bites. I believe this is basic consumer rights and that she should have a redress here.
Take care and have a nice day.

I have never been bitten nor see a live bedbug in my life before till my fiance showed me that it exist in his house. I was shocked. One day, he brought his travel bag to my home and to my horror there were some bedbugs hidden in the bag itself. We managed to kill it but I do not think all of them been killed. I was bitten and my hands and legs were full of swollen rashes and it is super itchy. One of the best way to get rid of them fast is to camm the Pest control company. Of course heat is good but to kill all the bed bugs in the house, I think the pest control company can do it.

I have not had an experience with bed bugs, but I am returning to school in New York City soon, where there is a bit of an epidemic at the moment. Even clothing stores (Hollister, Abercomie & Fitch, Victoria Secret) have had bed bugs recently.
There are chemicals you can buy to get rid of bed bugs, but I do not know them off the top of my head. If you use them several times and constantly wash the sheets and pajamas you may be able to get rid of them.
I hope it all works out!

here, we are provided with free board and lodging - bachelor accomodation but because of bed bugs, i decided to live out. bed bugs are migrating they will crawl from one room to another aside from the human carrier. carriers are the cleaners who use to clean rooms everday... now i am renting a flat as it is very imposible to kill those bed bugs found from my old villa...

I have had that experience before. I ended up with my marks and scratches wound all over my body. What I did to get rid of them was, I use a lighter or candle and start running it over my bed frame. I was told that bed bugs love to hide in the dark cervices of the frame. So I make use I run the fire over such places. Next, I would change the bedsheet and leave the mattress under the hot sun. Next, with a scotch-tape in hand, I will run through the folds on the mattress, make sure that I will stick and remove all the bed bugs that I have seen. So far, I have manage to clear the bed of the bugs using the above method.

Yes we did. back in my home town when i was a kid we had some old furniture where we had a lot of bed bugs. Every sunday we had the job of removing the furniture, using pest control on it and then moving it around the house. and every week the positions used to be changed. It went on for a couple of months before everything was wiped out.

Yes actually I posted a topic about this a few weeks ago!! Right now I'm living with my mom and we rent a townhouse. Meaning, a house that is directly connected to other houses on both sides.
Recently a new neighbor moved in. They aren't very smart.. They moved from a place invested with bed bugs, and they brought all their stuff that had bed bugs in it!
Well, did you know those suckers get through the walls/baseboards?? Now the neighbor that lives on the other side of them have bed bugs, we have bed bugs, and my other neighbor beside us has bed bugs.. And so does her neighbor. And the chemicals exterminators use don't work, they just scare them out of the baseboards so they are crawling in the middle of the floor all the time. The chemicals that work are banned, so me and my mom are sitting here trying to figure out where we can buy banned chemicals.. Looks like we are going to be throwing out all our furniture and beds and possibly moving. All because of my neighbors.
