How Do I Stay Awake When I'm Feeling Really Sleepy?

[b]Any tips, please? I find that coffee doesn't really work for me. I can drink a cup of coffee and go to bed a half hour later. That's how 'effective' it is on me.
Energy drinks don't work on me either, except as a thirst quencher!
Any other things I could try?

Try staying under the coldest setting on your shower for as long as you possible can ;)

Cold shower? The mere idea of it is enough to jolt me awake.
But, yes, sounds like a good idea. Will be adding that to my list when the going gets tough.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Haha, waste of water?! On your coldest setting the most the normal person will last is about 30 seconds tops before giving up. Or you could get that shower out of the way. Assuming most people are tired in the morning and need to shower in the morning, it wouldn't be a waste at all.

I use a natural product called Mega-T. It has Green tea, Chromium, Guarana, Eleuthens, Bladderwack, Fo-Ti and Gotu Kola. It really works and I have taken it for several years. There are probably other products at the Health Food Store too that would help you. I always go for the natural stuff as much as I can.

Yes, I was thinking that. I don't want anything medical as I don't want any side effects or the chance of developing an addiction.
I'm in the UK. Will see if we have Mega-T over here.
I've some really useful ideas, so I think I'm gonna make a list of them, pin it up on my wall and peruse of them when the sleep fairy attacks
Thanks for sharing yours.

Hi brownneyed, it's the same here, coffee won't keep me vigorous in vitality for long after taking a cup of aromatic coffee. I would become sleepy again very fast. I find only the things which interest me could keep me away from feeling drowsy. Yeah, I'm the huge friend of certain simple computer games. I always feel energetic when and after playing my favorite games. Oh gosh, the exciting and challenging procedure, as well as the use of my brains to think hard how to defeat the critical challenge me feeling really robust! I wonder whether it works the same for others.
Happy posting

Computer games, huh? Hmm, I can see how they can energise you. However, doesn't it make it difficult to come off them?

I'm the same way! I'm never sleepy at bedtime but around 2-3pm I can barely stay awake! Breathe deeply, oxygen is your best buddy when you're trying to wake up. Swing your arms around, stretch all over and touch your toes a few times--wake up those muscles! And a nice tall glass of ice water (I always have some handy) will wake you up and hydrate you. That's how I revitalize myself.

Cool. Thanks so much for sharing those tips. I'll be giving a go. And yes, I tend to feel sleepy in the afternoon too even if I've gotten enough sleep the night before. I'm a really late sleeper, though.
Thanks again for the tips.
