Any plot ideas for a story about aliens?

Hi friends, I'm a poet and I love reading books. I'm planning to try out my hand at short story writing.
I know it is not exactly correct to ask this, but it's just my maiden effort; so can someone give me a nice plot idea involving aliens or some other Sci-Fi or Fantasy that I could build upon for a story? Just for novelty sake.

There are a few sites that might help stir your muse. One is seventhsanctum, it is a site full of generators to help your with names, locations, and plot ideas. Another is fictionpress, this is a site I am on as a writer... It really gets the creative juices flowing just reading the stories there.
