Garlic is very good for your health. In fact I have seen some garlic supplements being sold in a store one day. It is said to have all those effects. My aunt once took it chopped fresh everyday to lower her cholesterol level, and it worked very well. :)

I think this is true. I have read about these things and have heard people say that they have tried it and its really effective. Perhaps the only downside of garlic is the smell. But some supplements now are processed out of garlic without the smell which would be good. Another thing I have heard is that garlic is a good way to scare of witches.... Hahahah, I do not even know if witches exist.

Wow, I didn't know all of that. Although for the bowel movement... I may need to consume more garlic... as long as it isn't 'fresh garlic' because it burns my tongue and mine is ultra sensitive. I read somewhere that it could also be used as an aphrodisiac too, not sure how true that is.

I take garlic as a mosquito repellent. We give it to our dog to help keep away the mosquitoes, fleas and ticks. It does work! I'd heard about garlic as an antifungal and antibiotic, but not about helping prevent constipation. Such a simple thing that does so many things, isn't it?

With the some usefulness, I prefer to ginger rather than garlic, I really can not stand the taste of the garlic.

You can do so many wonderful things with garlic. it can enhance almost any meal. It may not have a pleasant odor or taste, but it is very beneficial to our diets. It may not give us fresh breath, but it can make our foods taste so much better. Diets rich in garlic are said to be more nutritious. Good health is important to achieve so a good dose of garlic each day is helpful. Garlic isn't just to scare the vampires away!

The words of our grandma always reverberate with age-old, time-tested health secrets as far as garlic is concerned. We take them in our daily food as we believe in their goodness. Garlic is said to help increase our immune system and are especially good in combating the flu virus. If it's necessary when we are down with flu we eat it raw. It helps.

Yes, garlic is good for your health, it contains a lot of B vitamins and minerals and anti-microbial chemicals, but the effects that you want from it doesn't appear at once. You'll have to eat it for a long time and for best effects it should eaten raw, steamed or lightly cooked or else it will loose its healthy effects. There are garlic capsules containing the garlic oil, but it is not the same thing as eating fresh garlic. There are studies that show that eating garlic can decrease the risk of cardiovascular disorders. One way of eating garlic is to chopp it into small pieces and mix it with creme fraiche (light) and spread it over a pieace of bread. Easy and healthy!

I belong to a family where we have a history of hyper tension. And I saw my aunts eat cloves of garlic just to control their blood pressure. Garlics are very popular ingredients in cooking, but they also have healing powers. Garlics are effective decongestant, expectorant for cough and colds, relieves sore throats and sinusitis. They help lower blood pressure. When used externally they can be used for insect bites, burns and boils.

I've heard that from the experts on herbal medicines. And garlic is a prior ingredient in cooking plus I love it when it is minced and fried until golden brown and then sprinkled in my hot bowl of beef soup.
