What is your interpretation to this famous quotes? I often heard this from my office mates. This what they would tell me every time i say no to their invitations of having a night out or every time they are going camping for the weekend or i stay late at the office because i have to finish something.

My interpretation for this famous qoute is this.."Workaholic". You work too hard and work too hard..and work..and work...and no fun at all...even just for relaxation you do not give time for yourself and yes, it does make you dull not just physically but also emotionally. No social attachments makes you boring. Even makes you unaware of the things going on the society or worst, it seems you become so outdated and out of civilization.

hahahahah! i must admit i am unaware of the things going out there and become outdated but i don't like the idea of being a workaholic even though just right now i am locked up in my room alone and had just finished working to met the deadlines because i do skipped work if i dont feel like working.. hehehehe

hello bluerain25!
that famous quote exactly means what it says.. it means, a person who spends almost his entire time working without stopping for some recreation will make him dull in the sense that life is meant to be lived in the balance. Dull here also means, you are no fun to be with since you don't stop to enjoy life. you may know how to enjoy life but you don't give time to it since you spend all your time working.
For a person to be well-rounded, he must also know how to enjoy life once in a while. If a person only knows everything about his work, but almost nothing about the outside world, then he becomes dull. You have to be in, to be truly well-rounded.
I know the value of work, since i also work full time but i had learned the hard way how it was to be all work and no play. I used to do exactly that, but i know better. Having changed, i feel a lot better too.

Hi derielle, well i'm afraid i am dull when it comes to going out at night or camping. I just dont really like the idea. There are better things for me to do. But i do enjoy life :) once in a while in with friends but not on night outs. I cannot bear the smokes and with music so loud i got a head ache. LOL
I'll just try to change this working habit. thanks to you.. maybe i shouldnt skip working days if it's not very important so that i will not be racing with deadlines. CHEERS

As to me, I am working in a network company. Working in this type of company you can find most of time is dull and boring.Because you have to deal with machines every day.So When I come to this question'All work and no play makes jack a dull boy?', I am afriad to be a dull boy. Fortunately, There are some interesting guys in my circle of friends, when I finished the job I can spend a happy time with them, espcially on weekends. So I hope you would relax yourself with your friends after finishing your work. I hardly could bear workaholic.

I agree with you noodleboy, it's not just dealing with machines that is boring and dull... coding with all those programs and debugging are too boring also. Reading those codes and interpreting the errors made my mind goes blank LOL. the difference is that i just spend time to relax with family or my other friends who are not on the workplace where i am.
