Honoring parents is the only commandments with a blessing attach to it. but many christians nowadays are only good in churches and in praising and worshiping God but when it comes to their homes they do not respect their parents. they do not even wash their clothes and dishes. they yell at their parents and ask for allowances. The bible says honor your parents. It doesn't put any condition. So whether your parents is good or bad you should respect them.

I'm a catholic and open-minded. Honoring and respecting thy parents is good and one of God's commandment. But for me, not all the time. This commandment doesn't only apply to parents but to every individual. I love my parents but when one of them did something wrong and doesn't respect their children, how can you give respect to them? Especially when they insist on doing something that is wrong. Every person or children have the right not to honor every parents wishes specially when it is bad. God doesn't want you to do something that is bad for yourself. And you've got the right to say no. I think God will understand that. You can still honor and respect them but do not tolerate their wrong doings.

for me it is really good to have a heart of worship and at the same time a heart of obedient. to have a balance christian life.
