I've been a cat lover for so many years and there's still one question left in my mind. Where do cats of old age go when they die? All my cats of old age would just suddenly disappear without knowing where they went. Got any ideas?

I don't have any clue either.
there were many cats around our house back then. they grew old, and suddenly they never came around anymore. they just disappeared.
my Dad said that the most possible case that cats already knew they would die and they quickly went to places where they chose to become their last resting place. sounds mysterious and weird, really.

Cats & other animals alike don't like to be around their pack/family/owner, whatever you want to call it, when they since that they are dying. They like to go far away and just allow nature to take its course. I have no idea why this is, but even animals in the wild will take off and leave so they can die in peace. But when you have an indoor animal, like a cat, they like to find a hiding spot.

When my cats have got old they have either been soo ill that they had to be put to sleep or they have been ran over. They do say that cats tend to go off and die away from the place that they love and call home.I hate it when any of my cats go walk abouts and i do not know where to find them.

Hi paopaolar!
I've said this before. I share your sentiment. I've reared cats as pets before. They all disappeared mysteriously when they got too old. I never get to see the last of them.

I am so interested in this topic. My own cat was missing and I don't know where he went.I just hope he had a happy end without pains.
