Title looks a bit weird ehhhhh
Why would one enjoy their independence day happily? I came accross this guy in my chat in the morning.
Me: Happy Independence Day Dude
He: haha (this was one absurd reply )
Me: ???
He: What makes you to be happy on independence day
Me: oops...i greeted the wrong person
So what makes you to be happy on your independence day --- Is it that you least care about the freedom fighters who fought for an independent country then...Is it any other day for you ???
This guy sure enjoys being part of this diplomatic country but least cares about the Independence day which isn't right in my opinion.
Dont you think he came with a BS question when i have asked for the reason behind "haha" grrrhhh

I always take these inquiries seriously. and that either works or it doesn't. For this person I would say that yes I honor the people who worked so hard for our independence. Those that fought and those that organized and together pushed so hard fo it. My ancesters were there and because of that I have studied the history of that time in our country. Your country, India is of course much older and because of that has a much different history, but the fight for independence was much the same and in this case against the same enemy. Britian. Isn't it wonderful that an enemy who just that short a time ago rule us both is now a friend?

Yeah little did he know he is self-dependent coz our ancestors fought for our independence.he would have been a freaking slave if those freedom fighters least bother about our country.Britain seems to have ruled many countries...A lot has changed in terms of receiving people and good to know that Mahatma Gandhi is one inspirational figure in UK.well we cannot blame the present generation of britain for ruling us.

Hi sunnycool, i don't know about others, but what we learn from the childhood is celebration of Independence day is like a national festival. To remember our great patriots. I think that person doesn't have that courtesy to remember those people who got us freedom.

It was real fun when we used to enjoy the flag hosting in our school days and there were some skits related to these freeedom struggles which were quiet inspirational.

hi
even india got independ all including freedom fighters were happy and greeted each other that does not mean they forgot those who laid their lives for freedom it only means that their efforts have finally yielded the results.
but my question is although india has got freedom from england but whether all indian are financially freedom, if not ? what is the way, can you suggest ?

Being financially fit is no way related to countries independence...the former is related to individual person...if they have got some nice talent then they would make it big else they would struggle.however you get to live your life as you wish only because our ancestors fought for independence which is always better than to be puppets in other hands

Unpatriotic as I might sound, to me it is like another holiday, another festival day (though yesterday being a Sunday, we all lost one holiday). I really don’t think we need a specific day to celebrate our independence, our pride and our joy in being a nation. Most of the times I see any patriotic movie or hear any patriotic song or even the tricolor flying high, makes me so emotional and proud.
Considering our freedom fighters who gave their lives for our independence, well most of them were no longer there to enjoy the fruits of their labour in 1947….instead since then, 15th August has really become a show of sycophancy towards a particular dynasty…which is far less deserving or worthy of this adulation than all the martyrs who fought against indescribable odds for their motherland.

I don't celebrate the independence day and i do not greet people about this occasion too. independence is commemorated, it is remembered and people can celebrate or not if they choose too. i know being free is a celebration, but i guess since we are not really in the position where we fought so hard of this freedom, we do not really feel what the true meaning of the celebration is. with this, i guess that it was just an ordinary day, for me even if there are no traffics, no work on this day.

Hi sunny,
I think I would have the same feeling like you if somebody asked the same question in chat. But here with your topic I have enough time to think and give a reply. We should feel proud and happiness to get the freedom. We, Indians were treated like salves. People suffered a lot due the brutal attitude of the rulers in that time. Now we have freedom, we have control in our life; we can decide how to live the life so there is enough reasons to feel happy. Feeling happiness on this day does not mean that we forget about the people who sacrificed their life for us, for our nation. We are saluting them; we have respect and love for them.
Jai Hind.

Malaysia was under colonial rule for a long time and the people who have tasted the bitter pills of being under these foreign clutches could not be more happy to see their country being finally freed and so celebrating independence day is something every patriotic citizen of a country need to celebrate with full of honor.

Maybe he is part of a group of people who feel disenfranchised for some reason and thinks there should be more freedom than he feels he is getting...or maybe he is high on something, or low on something...like substance, you know? Seems like if you greet him pleasantly he should try to be pleasant back, though, regardless of his personal take on the holiday.

Sometimes people just have to reply with something unfortunately his reply was awkward and irrelevant. I mean he actually could have said what is so happy about it if he is one not to care in celebrating his countries in dependency.
Me on the other hand would have said to you Viva Puerto Rico... LOL.. You know I had to throw that in to get you to smirk... Loving it.

we have to be very happy on the independence day because we are freed from the hands of british by our great freedom fighters.otherwise we will be the slaves in the hands of the british.in my view the person who will not celebrate the independence day is still the slave.freeing from slavery is not ordinary thing we have to respect the sacrifices done by the freedom fighters and we have to salute to our national flag.
