is leaving a job worth it if you don't like your supervisor?

this has become a frequent question i have been asking myself as i have been battling whether to pass a resignation or not. there is no problem with the pay, the workload is fine, the work environment is so-so (although there are still slackers which get on my nerves sometimes but i can totally manage to ignore), but the supervisor i can't take. there's no question about that supervisor is a person, but my concer is about how she is as a leader. i get intimidated and i actually don't feel her sincerity. Simply put, i don't see her as a people person. i actually do believe that when you handle a team, you should have the capability to reach out and mingle with your subordinates. and because of this, i have been losing interest to go to the office because that would mean seeing the face of my supervisor.. she's done things in the past which made me lose my respect in some way. so.. is it worth it?

Having a job is not easy nowadays. A leader always act negatively or positively depending on his mood. Handling a problematic leader is a challenge. You have to learn how to take this challenge. We cannot change her as easy as we would like her to be. The management still believed in her capacity as head of your department. If not, why management insist on continuing her services? The best you can do for now is toe the line.

in other countries like the US maybe coz there are many job opportunities but here in the Philippines?i dont think so. but most boss here in the philippines are good and nice. You should just be careful of your attitude and your work should be satisfactorily done too.

It depends on. You have to see whether you can find another good job easily after you quit your current job. And whether it will create a financial problem for you if you don't work there. If you just don't like the supervisor, it seems that it is not good enough to quit your job. As all the companies will have various kinds of reasons that you don't like. Sometimes we can't change it, we have to adjust to it only.

Well it really depends on the situation. did supervisor did something wrong to you personally? does she always reprimand you for no reason? or you don't like her just because she doesn't mingle with her subordinates? those are the things you have to consider. you may want to try talking to her to air your grievances. but if you're really not happy with your job anymore, then go ahead and quit , just make sure before you resign you already have a job waiting for you . Good luck and hope you get to iron things out with your supervisor :)
