Do you prefer movies in color or the old movies in black and white? I really am not a fan of the old black and white movies, and have been totally spoiled by color. What about you?

I don't think there still are people who prefer black and white. Now everything is colorful, 3D will be a regular thing too...wait and see.

It's all about technology. The y didn't make the movies black and white because they wanted to but because they couldn't do them in color.

I agree with that. There is no comparison between black and white and color in my opinion.

I don't like old movies colorized, they don't tend to do a good job, I can't say I prefer one over the other, just depends on the movie...

Hi, snowy22315. I prefer movies that are in color. When I look at black and white movies, it goes by really slow and it is kind of boring. I am totally spoiled by watching movies in color. One time, I actually thought that the people who were on TV, lives were black and white one time. I found out that it is only this color when they are making a show or a movie.

I think this question could be addressed to grandparents or people who grew up prior to color TV era. Nowadays, people would not even think of watching things in black & white, unless if it's classic movies from around (say) 40 - 50 years ago. TVs are getting to be HD and 3D technology is getting to be emerging. Movie directors for the most part would not even think of creating movies in B&W, unless if there is any director that wants to create some kind of avant-garde feel. Even if they can create some B&W touch with things going back to more than 50 years ago, it may not be as closed to what you think of B&W. I might be vague with my last explanation.

I prefer the movies in color. For some reason the black and white movies usually make me want to go to sleep when I watch them. If I come across a movie on tv that is black and white I will skip right through it cause I know I wouldn't watch it.

the color makes the movie live. it looks like we are seeing the real one. while black and white make our eyes fell tired when we watch it.

Each has its benefit. I general prefer black and white. Movies where color is an advantage like "into the blue", or any sci-fi flick, cannot be made better with black and white. But movies with drama as its main focus tends to be more powerful in black and white. Color influences our emotions, once removed however, the focus is on the characters emotions. Some of my favorite BW films 1.Raging Bull 2.Wuthering Heights 3.Frankenstein 4.King Kong - yes the old one. 6.Psycho much more! I dislike when they colorize an old movie.

I like both. I like the clean black and white movies that look like an artist did a charcoal drawing.

Visiually , no one will like to watch black and white movies . Colour movies are always preferred by everyone . But the old black and white movies have that classcal flavour that people from the older generation like . SO , it really depends on your age !

Well, I really like the old movies and of course it's really black and white. When I was younger, we had a black and white TV and of course I can not relate to some of my friends if they talked about the colors. But I like classical movies. Now, 99% is colored! I think it's better.

for still images it is better to have a black and white picture, but for movies and all I prefer color films and that too in High Definition. :-) I cant imagine how it would be to watch Terminator Judgment Day in a black and white film. horrible isn't it?

Im TOTALY in Full color HD format prefered aswell... I dont say B&W movies are not good, but i just think that they would be much much more better in color scheme. Also i HATE movies without sound... I just have to listen actors, or else i just shutdown TV and rather go bang my head against wall or something...

I prefer the color movies but by the same token I don't think they should add color to the old black and white movies. Somehow they lose something when that's done.

I like color movies much more. The black and white movies are old style and I hardly watch it. Movies are different from photos. Black and white photos are elegant, but it does not work for movies. I love China

I like the classic color black and white. Most of my clothes are black and white that's why I kinda think that my ward robe is boring because it doesnt have any happy color. I find black and white even more attractive than the colored ones but of course that's only applicable to clothes.

of course,i want it colored.i guess i would have picked the black and white movies, when it's about murders or killings where there's lots of blood coming out of the victim.i don't feel really comfortable when seeing blood, that's why when i am heading for sampling of bloodtest,i would definitely avoid seeing my own blood being transferred to a canister, haha, and besides i'm anemic that's why it's not possible for me to donate blood.

I really prefer movies that in color. I'm a fan of color. Anyways I still like some old black and white movies. There's still some great movies out there that arn't in color. I also love some shows that are in black and white for example " I Love Lucy". I love that show and others do too since they're still running it.
