I've bee doing intensive research for 3 weeks now regarding "Work at home" jobs & I just got amazed that a lot of people from the entire globe has been earning from an online business and online services. I'vr been so inspired that I really want to quit going to the office.
Odesk, Elance, Freelancer and Blogging sites like Triond, associated content etc. are some of the sites that is worth visiting. Online jobs are just overflowing these days. The time I'm settled with my freelancing career, I might end up submitting a resignation letter soon.

Idea is Great as there are lots of opportunities online. I am active in online money making for the last 3 years. Now me at the starting point of my career other than online. So right now I took online jobs as a passive mode of revenue.
Still in Home based works we are totally free and we are our boss. Mainly my working areas are Blogging and you can find my work link on my Mylot profile

yes, working at home is a brilliant idea - the internet is such a great invention. succeeding in making enough money with online jobs though takes a lot of knowledge, patience, determination, and a little luck (for instance you won't easily get a job at oDesk or eLance because a lot of people are also bidding to have the same job). it would better not to leave your day job for an online job because earnings from day jobs or office jobs are more stable and less riskier than online jobs (you could get scammed working online!). it's best to do online jobs only as part-time - just to earn some extra cash for your luxuries ;)

This is really true. Bidding amount and your talent fee must meet halfway but one thing I always take into consideration are the other guys applying for the job. The lower your bid is, the more you have the edge.

Hi, I recommend thinking before acting. Working at home is a brilliant idea to some extent. It means you don't have to go out everyday and don't have to tolerate the boss and other troublesome stuff, but it is not as easy as to everyone, you know. You may not be able to earn half of what you earn from an offline job. At that time, you'll regret your hasty decision. So don't hurry. It's better for you to take online earning as a part-time job.

Hi michaelgolez,
I certainly have found a few online sites that are working out for me in a positive way. However, I haven't found one where I can make enough money to quit my day job, which would be and ideal situation. Who wouldn't like to find an online job that pays as much as their current job? I don't think anyone would have trouble not getting up early in the morning, rain or shine, and driving to work in bumper to bumper traffic.
The legitimate sites are there, but I am taking my time about joining too many too fast. I watch out for the one that seem too good to be true. I listen in the forums about others experiences with some of the sites that are not legitimate. My doing my homework, I will be in a better position to choose the right sites.
If you have good writing skills you will definitely find some exciting site to participate on . Triond and Mylot are two that will give you satisfaction and enjoyment for sure.
Good Luck

This seems like a very bold thing for you to do. It is true that there is a lot of money to be made online, but normally this doesn't supplement for a normal income made by a daily job. It also depends on how much money these freelancing careers guarantee. You need to make sure that you can still be financially independent solely on this new career. It may take some number crunching, but in the end you will find your answer. Keep in mind that you should be doing what you enjoy!

Good luck! I think it is not as easy as some sources make it seem, but it is definitely possible if you are patient and hard working. Just don't give up easily and keep your goal in mind, and you should be able to do it. Fingers crossed!

Working at home is so good and I really look forward to the time I will be able to do that. But I think that the office community is also wonderful. I am thinking if there could be a 50-50 arrangement for HOME-OFFICE portion. Mike, don't be too hasty to submit that resignation letter. To get that job back might be difficult.
