What is the most unusual pet?

When we think of pets, we usually think of the common pets: dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, birds, hamsters, gerbils, maybe a snake or lizard even. Some people choose to keep unusual pets. I was at Stone Mountain in GA several years back and I saw a couple with an animal on a leash. A dog right? As I got closer I realized that this was no dog... it was a pot-bellied pig! It was just too cute! Of course I had to go over and talk to them and ask to pet it. I had never seen a pet pig before (nor since). I was at a friends house several weeks ago and a neighbor came in holding her pet. No, it wasn't a cat or a dog. It was a chicken! She puts the chicken on the floor and it starts walking around making chicken noises. The best part is that it had a diaper on! Too, too cute! She could call the chicken and it would come running to her just like a dog would. What kinds of unusual pets do you or someone you know have?

I haven't seen it, but I heard some people keep ant colony in a terrarium as a hobby. Yet, I don't know if ants could be called 'pets'. Another unusual pet I know about it's a magpie. They even can be taught to speak, like a parrot. There was a movie in my country with a pet magpie who talked like a parrot. I can't remember it's name, it was long time ago.

I've seen a lot of magpies, not as pets but as pests! When I was little, my grandparents always complained about the magpies that stole their chickens. The magpies had nests in the trees around my grandparents house, and they had to feed their baby chicks so they ... hunted young chickens from the village. When I was a child I tried so hard to capture a magpie, because I had seen the movie with the talking magpie and I wanted to have one for myself. I didn't succeed, no matter how hard I tried.

We had an ant farm for a short period of time for a school project. I have never seen a magpie. We had a neighbor once that had a parrot on their porch and you could hear it all over the neighborhood.

I actually just ordered ants for my kids ant farm. I never had one growing up, but they are supposed to be pretty educational and interesting to watch as they build their tunnels and things and they will eat anything.

I always wanted a pet pig! One of my friends has several pet goats. They're so adorable. It makes me want to have one, myself. Also, not so unusual, but another friend's aunt has a pet snake that she feeds live rats to. *shudders* NOT so adorable as the pet goats and pigs.

I can handle the goats and pigs but not the snake!

I'm not a fan of snakes either. They scare me, honestly.

I had a pet hedgehog when I was growing up. It was probably the strangest pet I ever had. It was awfully cute but was as annoying as all get up and mine was not friendly at all. My friend had one that was very friendly. I was just unlucky I guess.

Cute! I'm assuming it's an indoor pig? What do they do about bathroom issues?
