It's ramadan right? 3.8 (4.9 million US dollars) million euros is what the Arabic world has donated as of yet to Pakistan for them to provide citizens with food and medical assistance. Fair enough a few other countries have offered a few 100.000's, blankets and medical assistance but that's about it.
Funny as the same tendence was also seen when the world collected money for Haiti!
My country Netherlands in itself has already donated 2 millions and already one million from the citizens, we have even opened our national bank account for the Pakistanis. Did you know that we raised more than 120 million euros for the countries hit by the tsunami in 2004? We only have 16 million citizens most countries have more but donate less...
It's time for the Arabic World and countries who haven't donated to donate some of their oil money to Pakistan. It doesn't have to be billions in total. Expected is that about 500 million us dollars is enough. That's not so hard to collect! Tell your government to donate!

Why rich oil countries don't donate much?I think that it's correct.I think they care more about their citizens and tax payers than some European countries do.I think your government is very generous when it comes to collecting your money and use it for diplomatic purposes or charity abroad.Good for others, but not for you.I'm not against charity, but I'm for common sense.

Or you could accept that what other people/countries do with their money is none of our business. During a global economic crisis perhaps the tax payers of these countries don't want millions of their euros being sent to another country. With so many crisis' that have occured lately we can't keep expecting so much from everyone.

Implying that tax payers have a say in the matter is incorrect. I have never been asked whether I agree with ACTA, my country donating money to whatever country, my country subsidizing whatever company, foundation, group, my country asking whether I agree opening the borders thanks to which we now have huge criminal rates, or my country wasting money on vaccines despite of having so many people living under the poverty line.

Actually implying that tax payers DON'T have a say in the matter is incorrect. Because if you didn't had, the government would become even more corrupt than it is now. Just think of all the misuses and possibilites this would open for them.
So when you don't agree with something the government does, you can always fight against it in court. I'm not saying it is easy but it is possible.
As for the ACTA, my oh my, I sure hope that doesn't get approved or the Internet will never be the same.

Exactly, if the government simply did whatever it wanted with the money they would likely not win favour with the public and thus be voted out at the next election; in that way the taxpayers are quite influential concerning how money is spent, especially considering we pay this money to support our own society not others.

you are not even pakistani and yet you showed ur concern.
our country is heading towards doom. especially these bloody politicians are responsible. most ppl cant even afford simple necessities like bread, n clothes, terrible state of electricity, poor ppl spend these hot summer nites out under the sky, and all those poor poor families who lost everything becoz of floods. the situation here makes most of us cry tears of blood. dont know how it will be like for our children
most of the donations go in the pockets of these bloody politicians and the poor remain poor n the hungry remain hungry. one cannot even imagine how it would be to loose everything in floods , all the memories or better yet the only house one could afford , the only clothing one had
terrible , terrible
