For all you Gossip Girl fans out there: Did you hear that Serena will go?

Did anyone else hear this rumour: Serena van der Woodsen will apparently be killed off the show, since Blake Lively, the actress who plays her, wants to focus on acting in movies instead?
I think that would be horrible, Serena is such a big part of the show, and honestly, I think it might even be a bad career move for Blake herself!
Any thoughts?

i dont have idea as to when this is going to push through (leaving Gossip Girl), if ever it is true but as far as Season 4 is concerned, i think Serena Van Der Woodsen is still good to go. The show's mostly between her and Blair (Leighton Meester). In my opinion, whenever i watch episodes that doesn't have Blair or Serena in them, it feels boring. i think the producers would not want to sacrifice the show's ratings and let go of Blake. Wouldn't be Gossip Girl without her. She's the Queen Bee and not even Jenny Humphrey can be it. But on hindsight, yeah it might be a good choice for her so maybe she can at least prove that she can do some serious acting other than being a glam girl.

I suppose you are right about that nikramos. But come on, she is still young! I think she can move on to serious acting when she is a bit older! For now, her fans love her in Gossip Girl, so she should focus on that!
An actress like that will have more opportunities for sure!

Hi,puccagirl!
I haven't heard this rumor.And I hope it won't be true.I love Serena more than Blair,Jenny or Vanessa.She is basically my favourite in this show.If she is gone,I don't know if I would have any interest in watching Gossip Girl any more.
Blake is now definitely hot.She has a good future laid ahead of her.But I really wish that she won't forget that playing the role as Serena van der Woodsen has greatly contributed to her fame today.It makes her more like a "it" girl.Hope she won't just leave and break our hearts.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I really feel happy for her that she is doing so well, she deserves every single bit of her success but I hope she will still keep in mind that Gossip Girl is indeed what launched her career, so to speak. So yeah, let's keep our fingers crossed this rumor is completely false indeed!

Serena Van der Woodsen is an integral part of the show. Somehow the story revolves around. I'm not really a fan of her character but it will be different without her character. I hope they make changes that will be good for the show coz I love Gossip Girl.

I don't know anything about that rumour but I totally agree with you, Serena is a big part of the show and getting of would not be good for blake lively.
