Well I do not know about the rest of you here, but I am absolutely addicted to eBay, I just have to go on there and see what bargains I can grab. It is especially good for me at Christmas, getting presents for family and friends and also having two boys who both have birthdays very close to Christmas, eBay is a godsend! I am also a penpal to many people, and recently I have been on ebay buying new paper and address labels. Trouble is, although I spend little amounts on some things that I buy on eBay, they soon mount up, and I end up spending quite a bit. I have really got to stop going on that sight so much lol. How about you guys, how addicted to ebay are you, or don't you use it at all?

Apologies for taking so long to reply to this I have not been on here for a whole week!!! Which is very unlike me ... but however, great pic I love the Kayak! Ebay, is well lets say getting too much of an addiction at the moment, I am currently in the middle of re-decorating the house and such, and have been seeing things on ebay that could go very well in here, I am very tempted, but have so far resisted the urge, but how long I can resist I have no clue, not long I dare say lol!

I used to do the same thing til I bought a computer thru ebay and it was bad. The Ebay ins. was good tho and helped me get my money back. The seller was nasty and he ended up only paying me back about half. It happens. I still will buy from Ebay but it won't be anything electric.

So tell me you are getting me a bit scared right here. What if i say i wanted to buy a game console. Is there anyway you can ensure it is not damage before i actually order it? How can I even receive it if i am in jamaica, also keep in mind i am only 16 years old

Ah don't be scared. Just the insurance that Ebay has. It is a pain tho if the object in question is either broken or doesn't work properly. You can receive these things all over the world as far as I know. Your age has nothing to do with it............I don't think....you'd better check on that one. But, Ebay is a good site with lots of good products and I just happened to get a back one. I was backed up with the insurance Ebay sells and it came out ok.

Go into the Ebay site and READ. If nothing makes sense, use the contact button and also ask about your age.

Try selling on it, it is great, I love selling and buying..paypal in general is amazing. The only thing is the seller fees are a bit annoying, its still great fun. Selling is twice as addicting, its the easiest way to get rid of old junk, and some things that may seem useless to you are worth quite a bit. For example old video games, people will pay 30-40 dollars for an old title you have on the n64. I love it!!

Ebay can be very addicting. I know that it can be a way of shopping without the crowd and there are some good deals on there, but I also believe that it is important to realize that many items on there aren't as good as we are led to believe and that you can spend a lot of money there if you are not cautious in what you do with everything. I look for books for school on there but most times they are more expensive than if you bougth them from the manufacturer.

Yes, I absolutely love ebay and I love the fact that they have a rating system and this can either be beneficial or detrimental to your reputation as a seller or buyer on ebay! For the most part I have been making small purchases on ebay in order to increase my positive rating status. I then thought to myself that it might be nice to try and sell something! Well, I purchased a couple of computer fans outside of ebay and it turned out that they were the wrong size. I then thought that it might be a good idea to try and sell these on ebay and thankfully it worked! I sold the two fans and this was my first transaction as a seller! I must admit that it felt really good when the buyer eventually left feedback for me. I was happy with the buyer and by the same token the buyer was happy with me as a seller! I have a 100 per cent positive rating on ebay and that is good. I'm cautious about who I buy from on ebay as I don't want to have my reputation tarnished in anyway! I will only buy from sellers that have a one hundred per cent positive rating. It was quite a unique experience having to print my own postage from the royal mail website. I think that it's quite enjoyable when you get more than one bidder for your item! As bad as it sounds it's kind of nice to watch the bidders fighting against eachother in terms of placing higher bids, it shows you how much they want your product I guess! Anyway, I have no complaints regarding ebay whatsoever. Andrew

I'm not a big fan of shopping in general so I only use them when I really need to. Christmas & kids' birthdays are good occasions, but apart from that, I won't touch it. If you really like shopping, and if you can't resist, why don't you think of it as a hobby? Say for example, person who likes to travel save up money and go travelling few times an year. Why don't you also save money for your eBay 'hobby', and go shop on there few times an year? When you think of it as a part of daily household spending, you might start spending the money you would spend for your households and groceries. Although, if you think of it as a hobby, you would only spend 'spare' money that you've saved up. To make sure you don't spend any extra, remove credit card from your paypal account. Then, whatever cash save up for eBay, transfer it from your bank account to paypal so you can only spend whatever you've saved up. Happy myLotting :)

Hi dear, There was a time I am busy with ebay. But once I moved to myLot, my full extra time is busy in myLot only. I have purchased few items through ebay and not made as a habit. Also, currently I don't require anything for me to shop. Also, find little costly as compared with the open market or some items. Regards, Thank-s

Yeah, it is is very easy to get addicted to Ebay, it happened to me too. So these days, I try to only buy the things I really need, and not all sorts of things that are "nice to have" or whatever, because otherwise I could easily be shopping around the clock!

When I first enrolled on e-bay I was the same as you rosie and was absolutely addicted and constantly searching for bargains..to the point that I was buying things I didn't really need or want just because it was a bargain. Thankfully I have calmed down a bit now and really only look for specific things when I want /need them..but I have now started selling on e-bay so that has become a bit of an obsession , lol. I am hoping that will pass in time too just like the buying urge! :o)

According to your introduction, I guess I may also meet such a serious problem. As I have no interest in go shopping offline, so, I spend lots of time on shopping what I need on the Internet. eBay is an ideal place for me to find the cheap goods. Everyday, when I am not very busy, then I tend to spend time on visiting eBay and find something interesting, which has become an addiction. Now, perhaps both you and me have to stay away from eBay. At least, when we want to open eBay next time, try to let ourselves know that there is no good goods that suit our needs.
