It seems poor Orly just can't catch a break. In June she was soundly defeated in her bid to become the Republican nominee for California's Secretary of State and now the Supreme Court has shown her the door. Looks like she's not the savior of the free world she believes herself to be. Considering the circumstances of her case, do you agree with the Court's decision?
A California attorney who has filed numerous lawsuits in an effort to force the production of a birth certificate from President Barack Obama lost her emergency appeal at the Supreme Court to stave off a $20,000 fine for misconduct related to her legal work.
Last year, a Federal judge in Georgia made the unusual decision to sanction Orly Taitz for what he said was an abuse to the privilege of practicing law. Taitz's clients are members of the military who want to avoid service in war zones by claiming deployment orders are illegitimate because of their uncertainty over the location of Obama's birthplace which they contend makes him constitutionally ineligible to be Commander in Chief.
In one case, Taitz represented Army Major Stefan Cook whose commander eventually told Cook he didn't have to go Afghanistan because he didn't want Cook to be a distraction to the unit. The decision apparently didn't satisfy Taitz who continued the legal proceedings in an effort to force the production of Obama's birth certificate, even though her client had secured the relief he was seeking.
"The revocation pulled the proverbial rug out from under Ms. Taitz, who at that point had no legitimate legal basis for pursuing the litigation in her attempt to further her agenda of obtaining a 'satisfactory birth certificate' from the President," Judge Clay Land wrote disapprovingly.
Judge Land also took issue with Taitz's work representing another client, an Army Captain who was looking to avoid service in Iraq. He said it was politics--not the law--that Taitz was promoting in his and other courtrooms across the country.
Taitz filed an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court to avoid paying the fine. After first being denied by Justice Clarence Thomas, Taitz appealed to Justice Samuel Alito who referred the matter to the entire court which denied the application without comment.
Taitz was soundly defeated in June trying to become the Republican nominee for California's Secretary of State in California.:

Thanks for the update, Spall! I've been waiting for Rose to let us know how poor Orly made out with the Supremes since she (Rose) was so excited to report they had agreed to hear her case. I pointed out to her that because she'd already asked two justices to hear the case they more or less automatically agreed, knowing she'd only make a total pain in the a$$ of herself going to all nine justices until they all turned her down.
Where is Rose, I wonder? I thought she'd be right on this one...lol!

Hero my big toe. This woman found her financial nitch and's going to ride that train as long as she can find misguided people to let her *represent* them and others to send her their hard earned money. She's a con artist.

I agree with X. This whole thing is a distraction and people need to get over and move on. Personally I think the man could mail a certified copy of his BC to every person in this country adn you would still have people that would say he is not a US citizen. People believe what they want to believe sometimes.

This is very true, Lil. Hatred is a strong emotion and all anyone needs to help it grow is a way to justify it. This issue is what some folks use as an excuse to hate but, fortunately, they are in the minority.

Well, you do have to admire her persistence in her cause and belief.

This issue is little more than a money maker for her...she showed that when she persisted with a case where there was no one to represent. She has at least one website where she seeks donations from other misguided folks. Nothing like free money! And she thought she could parlay her notoriety into an elected position.
