If your house was haunted, would you still live there?

If your house was haunted, would you stay in it? I was told by the previous owner of my home that my house is haunted. I've never seen any ghosts, but there have been a few unexplained occurrences. If you actually saw a ghost, would you stay in the house or move?

With me it would depend. If it was just sightings of something unexplained then I would probably stay. If it was odd occurrences that left me feeling anxious or stressed then I would probably be packed and gone the next day. Several years ago, while I was still living at home with my parents we lived in an apartment that obviously had some sort of haunting going on. We heard knocks on doors inside the house when there was no on there to do the knocking, dark shadows, beds bouncing with no one on them, lights that would come on by themselves. These were witnessed by more than one person at a time so there was no one imagining them. While we lived in the house none of us slept well, nightmares and just waking up a lot at night because of lights coming on. The whole time we lived there I felt anxious and nervous, the only time it would go away was when I was out of the house. We only stayed there about a year and my parents decided to leave. I was never so glad to be out of that house! We had never experienced it before or since. So it would depend for me on the feeling of the house and what was going on.

I just get chills thinking about something like that happening to me. I probably would have run out of the house screaming and not looked back. I am a big chicken. But I can understand trying to explain away weird things. I always want to think that there is a logical explanation, and it couldn't possibly be caused by a ghost. LOL

Yes, I remember when things first started happening I had myself convinced that I was dreaming. However, I shared a room with my other teenage sisters and they were saying the same kind of things were happening to them. I woke up many nights at that house, just all of a sudden wide awake, with a creepy feeling like someone was watching me. The next morning I would convince myself I had been dreaming. I never really saw anything definite. Just catch a glimpse of a shadow moving real quick out of the corner of my eye, that would happen during the daytime mostly. Funny but that didn't really scare me, or at least I didn't get that creepy feeling.

LOL, I had no choice I was just a teen at the time, my parents of course were trying to explain it away until it got worse. They didn't really admit that they thought there was something wrong there until after we moved, they were afraid of terrifying us. Three of us were teens but my twin sister and brother were only six. My mother told me years later that she thought that someone had meddled in witchcraft in the house. She told me her bed started bouncing every night like a small child was jumping on the foot of the bed, all of us kids were in bed asleep. My father didn't witness a lot of it, as he worked the graveyard shift so was seldom home at night. She opened a Bible on the dresser in her room, and the bouncing on her bed stopped but we were still putting up with the lights and the knocking until we moved. I don't know how my mother found the courage to stay in that house when dad was at work, with just us kids who were off to bed early for school. So glad that place is in my past!

Hi, TooFancy. Nope, no way! Once I found out that it is haunted, I will pack up all of my belongings and move out. I have heard about too many stories, about people continuing to stay in their homes when they know that a ghost is present in it. I will pass. I will never stay in a house that is haunted. Count me out!

Yeah shia88, for tremulous persons like us it's sure that we are not enough to live in any haunted house. Might be we frighten ghost is due to, lol...watching too often scary ghost movies I think. I did watch films about kind and helpful ghosts that always save people from dangerous situation like car accident, drown, etc instead of hurting them They are not appearing in horrible looks that are really dreadful.

we used to live in a big old haunted house.. our family is renting the house for a cheap monthly price. people who rented the house before survived for only a month or two in that house, but we reside there for like 9 years...
my brother saw a ghost there, and he thought it was me. and yes there were strange occurrences too.. we just didnt mind it at all.. but it was scary...
anyway, good thing we have moved now to our own house..

I would stay in the house. It also depends on how strong the occurrences are or if they are becoming harmful and more aggressive I'll leave.

If my house was haunted, I would probably stay there, depending on different things. So long as it wasn't getting too much out of control. I wouldn't want the situation to be too much, but if it wasn't dangerous or harmful, I might stay. In this situation, I could see myself doing that.

As some of the users here know, my house is actually haunted. We have ghosts living in our house and they let us know they exist. They made apparitions and sounds and stuff. We were pretty spooked at first, but what they have been doing are just petty stuff. I mean, they're not hurting us, making us sick, or anything. We just dealt with it and ignored them. Until now they're making supernatural stuff and we got used to it. So I suggest that if they're not hurting you or any occupants of your house in any way, just ignore them and coexist with them peacefully. Eventually you'll find yourself not minding what they do.

Wow. How interesting! I got chills. If the occurrences in my house have been caused by ghosts, I can tell you that they are definitely friendly and mean no harm. Good luck to you, and thanks for the response. I would love to hear about some of your experiences.

I will stay. They also God creation. Same with us. As long they not hurting us, please don't bother, they also want to live like us. They have children, they eat, the difference is we cannot touch them because the live a spiritual world.
