Hi, It might be safe or dangerous to be out at night, but whatever the situation is, we should always be careful, there is no 100% safe country to be in. I think all girls should learn some self defence to protect themselves, not only from molesters and rapists and also from robbers who will target at those weaker than them. I live in Singapore where it is relatively safe but there are still crimes going on which we have heard of. We have a campaign "Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime" and I hope everybody remembers this.

ya, think because most human are corrupted, want to have more and this desire can lead them to all sort of things. Jealousy, hate, greed, lust all this lead to crime. If one day, these feelings don't exist then maybe there will be NO crime.

hii Srbalajee, if authorities become more strict then crime will indeed reduce up to a great extent.

We hardly don't have any crime around my area, however there is a serial rapist hanging around somewhere. I feel quite safe being a male and can protect myself. I will not let my girlfriend go alone I always go with her just incase. There hasn't been any real robberies lately or murders. Just car accidents and the rapist and the odd pub brawl.

Hi, If talking about my country Indonesia,it is for sure not safe to walk along the street, alot of robberies happened. Therefore, I never walk along the street at my hometown, too dangerous.and It is best to travel with own transport. If were to take public transport, has to be extra careful too, alot of pickpocket happened and avoid bring those big handbags. Just put the money inside your pocket.

I live in one of the cities of MINDANAO. Mindanao is said to be feared by most if not all foreigners. I don't know why. But I think in the city where we live in, we can walk at night in major streets without too much bothering about crimes. My work requires staying up late at night in the office.Back then I usually go home 12 midnight . I used to walk a 500 meter to the highway, waiting for a jeepney. I passed through an underpass. Sometimes we also go out midnight if we felt hungry and buy some food outside.

Yes I am. I work late to earn more. In the Philippines a typical worker earns 6k PHP a month and I can earn that in 15 days. So working late secure me financially and I am used to go home late.

In Indian the condition is even worse. It is not only women but it is dangerous for men to go out alone. There is every possibility that men would be mugged or the women would be raped. Bad elements prowl about in dark in search of prey. If they find someone alone they are sure to attack them. Never put yourself at risk even if you are at a place where there had been no earlier precedence of crime. New criminals are born every day. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Here in the U.S. it isn't always safe going out at night, in fact, if people do go out at night, they bring another person or at least three people with them because you never know what could happen, and believe me, bad things have happened.

there's no place safe even in the morning. not only at nighs. I mean i think for most places - especially if the area is kind of not really a business district, it would always have the danger of someone trying to rob you, or maybe hold you up for some cash... killings do happen but not as much as robberies, snatching of your stuffs, and accidents - car accidents happen more at night because the cars would be faster than the usual... in the mornings there are traffics so less accidents. For girls, i think of course it is not safe to walk alone especilly if the place is not well lighted, and there are some blind corners where you might not be aware of any attackers.

Paranoia always ensues in communities and it's mostly because of the news, where the "man bites dog" phenomenon is predominant. Although crimes and violence take place around the world, they are not as frequent as one might think. Being precautious is good, being paranoid is stupid.

Hi, sweetneelu. It can be safe and then again, it can be very unsafe! I think that it is not safe at all to walk alone, for anyone. I would be scared to walk anywhere alone at night. I just don't know who may be walking outside. I would not walk anymore to check the mailbox at my apartment complex. I don't want to be hurt by a mad man.

You see in our city too, it is not safer for women to venture out at night. It is safer to stay at home. Crimes and criminals are increasing day by day in every cit, it appears.

The way things are these days, I am kind of reluctant to go out at night alone. There are just too many dangerous people out there. With a group of friends, I might go out. However, its really not safe past a certain time, especially depending on the part of the city. Whether it be man, woman, or child, it is not something I recommend. It is very easy to get mugged. Crime has been up just a little bit around here. It is really a product of what is happening in this world. It is becoming far more dangerous for each and every person. There is too much danger out there. Of course, even in the best of times, you are really rolling the dice by going outside. It is just the way things are but of course, you can't live your life in fear.
