Badminton has been in the block today as one of the few addictive games. I just don't know why I categorized it as an addictive game but when I started playing and was hooked into the game, it is indeed an addictive one! I may not be playing everyday due to some conflicts in schedule, but my hands and feet feel itchy everytime I think of it or get a hitch of it. Badminton is a one good sports. It's good for the heart and soul. I should add, it cultivates your drive of competitiveness and at the same time nurturing your heart and soul through the camaraderie you can get with your teammates. I may sound biased since I am a certified BADDICT but in a true sense, there is what we can call a badminton language you can build upon in playing such exhilarating yet exhausting game. Honestly, I can play for 6-8 hours straight and that is why I lost my body fats and I look groggy and dry for the following day. Dehydration per se is such a monster. It inhibits you from playing more! Now, what is your share when once you have played or you have been playing around in the badminton court?

i like badminton very much but i am not considered a baddict. i regularly play but only once a week. i have long thought that this is what fits me because of other stuff that i have to do. I play really hard whenever i am in the court so 2 hours of almost non-stop badminton is more than enough for me as i get really tired after it. And as i'm getting older, it is taking longer for my body to recover; sometimes for 2-3 days. i've been playing in formal courts for more than 10 years already. good luck and hope your fascination to it does not die. its really a good and fun sport.

You are right! Our physical age is really a factor in every physical activity that we do. But we have to remember, it is best to condition our body all the time in order to promote our health and vigor...

I used to play badminton, but due to an accident that happened to me, I can not be forced to play badminton again in a long time, but it is true that badminton is a very exciting sport

I am sorry to hear that. Maybe it's best for you to find less strenuous sports. Just remember, no mountains too high can stop you from getting what you want and what you are passionate about..

I am also a badminton addict but i play only once a week for 2 hrs due to work schedule. As badminton is a strenuous sports, i would advice not to play for 6 to 8 hrs straight too often. This will be taxing on your legs, especially your knees. Take supplements like glucosamine to strengthen the knee joints. Of course, always drink enough water during breaks to replenish those you have lost. This can prevent future problems, like having kidney stones..

Thanks for your advice. I'll try checking on glucosamine but I am more interested of fast reliefs of muscle cramps and revitalizing once energy. Going professional in this once addictive game isn't a joke. I joined a tournament last weekend and to my dismay, I stopped in the middle of the game due to muscle cramps. It was really too bad.
