Can you sing very well? What if your voice is like a frog?

I used to be just like most people; I thought you had to be born with a good singing voice in order to sing well. Thanks to a couple of professional voice lessons, however, I now know that there is a technique that can be refined through practice, which all but refutes the popular belief that singing is 100% natural talent God-given only to a handful of "chosen" ones. Yes, it does come more naturally to some people than to others, but that is true of any skill. It is also like any other skill in that being good at it requires regular practice and commitment. I would say I sing pretty well. I still have quite a bit to learn and I wouldn't say my voice is professional standard by any means, but I am not a terrible singer either. I can keep a tune and I practice my technique when I can (which I am hoping will be more often than I have been) and I've always been a bit of a ham and able to imitate voices somewhat naturally, so that helps a little. I encourage anyone who is interested in singing to pursue it. I never thought I would even become a halfway decent singer, but I have seen that it can happen if you let go of all the popular myths that keep so many people from developing their voices (and lose the fear of singing solo in front of people - even if just for practice - if you happen to have that fear).

I'm also a music lover but my problem is I don't really sing very well. But I still sing in videoke during occasions with very close friends and family. I'm not embarrassed even though they laugh and make fun at me. I'm a comedian you know and I'm happy that i make them laugh.
