Yep, I've heard the news on the radio just a few hours ago while driving to work. Although I don't have any sympathy to those suspects of muggings and kidnappings, I still am an advocate of human rights. A person is not guilty until proven, that's what I believe in and that's what all cops in our country should adhere to. Good thing the media is always on the lookout for these heinous acts and are always ready to show the people what really is happening.

Hello xtedax,
the person that was tortured was jailed for robbery. but even though the person is guilty and sent to jail, they still don't deserve that kind of treatment, this the 21st century and not the medieval times
. thank god for phones in cameras, people can see the darkest things with out video or camera.

Prison should be hell not a holding tank. Do you see what I mean? I'm just saying that if you go to prison should you expect a nice place to go to? I think not. The idea of prison is hell to me. Prison is not a rehabilitation center where you change people's habits but a place to punish criminals, don't you agree?

That is an appalling situation and it goes to prove that these guys are in their jobs because they have a dysfunctional hunger for power. Just because a person is a prisoner in a jail there is no reason why he should be tortured like that. I have not as yet heard of this incident on our Australian news but no doubt we will very soon. The guards involved in this should be reprimanded and hopefully fired.

Hello Paula,
Nah, i believed cops there are well compensated, compare to my country that cops have very low salary. when a peson is imprisoned, anything can happen, specially if it's in the Philippines. am sure you don't have that kind of incident there.

definitely this is human right violation........ governments must take serious actions on these incidents... Nowadays this type of treatment with the prisoners are very common in almost all the nations.... government of each country should take some actions to prevent such things....

Hi LetranKnight25
I was out of the house the whole day yesterday that is why I wasnt able to see the video. It was only my yaya who told me about it. Yes if ever he was a criminal he was not supposed to be brutally tortuned--he still has his rights. Lets pray that police brutality would stop.

Too bad other people seems to be sadistic. You are right this cops should be dismissed from their duties. Especially here in our country that there prisoners who are not actually criminals and were just victims. We might not know that prisoner being tortured didn't actually commit any crime at all.

hi letran thats just outrageous that police can torture a prisone like that and not get caught. They would be given stiff penalties maybe
prison time in the US. I dont know what your new Philippine will do but those cops should be sent to prison for long terms. That is indeed a
violation of human right.Cruel and inhumane.Police officers involved in
cruelties like this should be fired at once.

Hello Neildc,
well, in the video i saw one who's wearing a police uniform. then, the person who is doing the torture was actually a chief police. if they are identified, not only they will loose they're job but could suffer consequences, like joining their inmates, and suffer the same fate as the one they try to drag on too.

Hi, Knight. You are fast!:) I also saw the news.... Sad enough... Even if these people have violated the laws, no matter how serious their violations are, they shouldn't be treated like this...
As I was watching the news, I couldn't help feeling mad, not to the prisoner but to the police who was torturing him and those who were watching them. As if they were just hitting a doll. The h**l with them!I just hope there would never come a time in their lives that they'd be put in the same position just like the tortured prisoner...
The new president must do something about this.

Prison should be a place for reform. losing your freedom is hard enough but losing onces dignity as a person is even harder. Torture would not help a person to seek reform instead they just turn out more violent due to the trauma. When these guys gain their freedom back, they'll just end up doing up what they've been doing before or even worse.

Oh no this people is sick, just because they are on authority they can do what they want. Prison is like hell, they will do any worse thing to you if you are weak. I hope all bad cops will kick out of their job.

Its so sad!!!! some of the cops are heartless and even show all their frustrations over the prisoner. but when looking behind the reason of such an activity by cops is due to the prisoner and his brutal activities. a person is never treated badly(some unfortunate exceptions) until or unless he has not done any fault. but making him naked is violent behaviour and those cops should be treated the same way.

What happens behind closed doors... i guess we'll eventually find out. Man, I already thought solitary confinement has bad enough, but your story makes solitary confined a joke.

Hi, LetranKinight25. This is very cruel! And painful too! How can a police officer just initially treat this prisoner like this? This is a very indecent act. They should be fired from their jobs. It seems like nowadays cops are beginning to get away with a lot of things. And this is many of of the things that they are walking free from. Something needs to be done about this brutality!
