Be careful, someone may hack your gmail

hi friends, 2 days back i encountered a strange incident that made so worried that i cud'nt sleep properly. As usual when i tried to access my gmail in the morning, it was showing password error...!!! I was shocked and tried a few methods like clearing cookies, cache etc. But nothing seemed to work, and i went for the "can't access account" option of gmail,where i had given my mobile number for recovery option. But the hacker had changed everything, my recovery email, recovery mobile number and also my security question. . !!! I got even more tensed when i saw that my security questions were in arabic!! So i was left with no option other than using account recovery form. This form usually asks details related to your account like when the account was created, inviter, invite id, url of orkut etc. Luckily i had saved all these details because i had thought that it would come to help sometimes. So i got the response from google within 5 min and my gmail was restored to me. After encountering this incident, i just want to tell u all to preserve or record a few important facts about your gmail, which will be very helpful in some situations. 1. The most important one is the account creation date. This can be got by the welcome email from the gmail team when u first created the account. 2. If u are using orkut, gtalk, and other google applications make sure that you know when u started using these.( atleast approximate month). 3. If you are invited by a friend, then preserve that invite mail. U can provide the invite id, gmail id of the person who invited, which is very much needed to claim. 4. If possible preserve the verification code sent to your mobile. 5. Also remember the last successful login date and password. 6. Remember important labels in your account.I prefer to create a few labels(1 or 2 atleast) because this will be very helpful for the google team to resolve. 7. Recovery email recently used. 8. Details regarding google applications like, orkut main page url, invite id, etc. 9. Email addresses of up to five frequently emailed contacts. If u provide correct details of 1,2,3,5,6 ,I am very sure that u will be restored with your account within minutes. The more accurate information you provide, the more early u get back your account.
