Can we sell crafts on craigslist?

I was wondering if we can sell crafts through craigs list. This may be something that I can try around my area, but I have never seen people doing it before. I was wondering if anyone in here had tried to do it before?

I don't deal much with craigslist, but I wouldn't know why you couldn't list them. In fact, it's probably a good idea. I might try posting my quilts on there. My biggest thing is that there isn't a specific listing place for my town. We have to list in the area of the next largest town. Now you have me curious to go check out just what others in my area do have listed. Marsha

I checked a little last night to see if there was anything in there, they do have a craft area, but most of it was antique crafts, and vintage stuff, so I didn't add anything. Where I sell cats balls, I may put some up for sale in the pets area. Maybe that would work better.

I didn't make it in to check around....things got to crazy yesterday....and that continued on into today. Sounds like a plan to put them in the pets section though. Marsha

That is my plan if I can get some other things done. Of course right now here I am still trying to get better from my operation, so I wont get much done online for awhile, of course though I may be able to make more crafts.

seen stuff, mostly stuff to make crafts with, for sale, but I do understand that there are predators trolling Craigs list...

It use to be that you could go in there and know that people were legit, and now, instead you have to wonder whom is emailing you, or even calling you.

I was thinking about giving Uncle Henry's. com a try, they are mostly Maine, but I use to use them and got many people interested in buying crafts from there.

There are crafts listed on Craigslist. I did list a couple of items on Craigslist and did get one response from a curious lady but she really didn't have any interest in buying. She was anxious to know how my craft was made. We emailed each other, she lived in my area, but she didn't buy the item. I recently joined ecrater.com and will list some items once I figure out how to post items with photos. It's free to join.

Ecrater is suppose to be free. No charge to list, sell or buy. Just haven't had the time to really check it out. Good luck!

I may check ecrater.com out and see what they have there, I am really getting tired of making things, then it piles up and no place to sell it. I did find out that the local flea market will be having spaces outside for rent, I may try that and see what happens. Its $20 for 2 tables. But just for 1 day. The only problem is that if it rains you are out the money.

I have listed other things on craigslist but never crafts. I don't know why you couldn't list craft items for sale on Craigslist. I live in an apartment complex and always meet buyers in the lobby. I just sold a few VHS tapes on Craigslist the other day and I even sold a Frig on there once as well. So there are honest buyers and sellers on there, just watch out for the riff raff.

If only I could meet people in a public place like that, but I live way out in the country, so I have to have people come to my home. There seems to be loads more riff raff on there lately then there use to be, makes me wonder if its due to the economy being so bad.

I deal with craigslist all the time with various things, but crafts . . . it'd probably be difficult to sell them there. Specialty items seem to get lost amongst the various posts - and I'd venture to say most people don't specifically look for crafts there. You can "try" - just to see if you get any responses - it's free anyway. You are better off trying to sell on a site like Etsy, where they are known for craft items. As others have mentioned, criagslist seems to have a bad rap these days. I haven't dealt with serious weirdos, but certainly have had my share of flakes and spammers replying to my posts.
