Last year I lost 20 pounds and I have been faithful to keep the weight off. It's been great, really! However I fear that my weight might start to pile on once more because recently I have been snacking a lot! I try to drink water but the taste of water is so unsatisfying I actually want to snack more because of it. I am out of options! What do you suggest to curb that snacking?

I'm in a similar situation...i've just recently got back from a holiday in Turkey. The hotel was all inclusive so I found myself eating nearly every hour of the day. Nearly had a heart attack when I got home and stood on scales but what concerns me more is the fact I haven't been able to kick the constant eating habit since i've been back. Having put on half a stone abroad i'm worried about getting on the scales again now.
I know exactly what you mean about the water thing though. I've tried filling up on water and find it's very very bland so i've remedied this by buying dilutable soft drinks. Only put a touch of fruit juice in the water just to give it a bit of flavour but not too much so that it's packed with calories and that helps beat the hunger for a little while.
I also know that by trying to stick to carb foods like pasta, bread and potatos although people freak out that they make you fat...they actually fill you up a lot longer and have a slow release of energy so in theory you shouldn't need to keep eating.
The most fatal thing you can do is eat something really sweet as this doesn't fill you up, leaves you really hungry and you just keep eating and eating....well I know I do.

ooh! I feel for you, girl! I've been getting good advice like, snack healthy snacks, keep reminding yourself you do NOT want to gain weight, and do things to distract yourself like take a walk, get busy, or something else.
Keep on trying!

Small frequent meals. This way you can eat 9 times a day.

Oh, I wish I could do that! I usually eat twice (lunch and dinner) But I KNOW that eating more frequently curbs snacking hunger and actually helps your metabolism.
Fortunately, I've been trying to snack healthy. Yesterday I ate about 50 cherry tomatoes. I pigged out, yes, but, it was tomatoes, it's not that bad, right??

tomatoes are considered fruits too because they also contain sugar. Well, too much of a good thing is bad.

snacking is good because it keeps you from overeating at your next meal! keeps healthy snacks around, like apple slices and cheese, or yogurt, just something that will satisfy you, its a snack not a meal. buy little sandwhich bags (they have really small ones) and divide up fruits and veggies into them and just pull out a baggie when u want to snack. eat a snack between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. and one thing i dont do is snack at my desk. its mindless munching and u dont know how much you have ate until you realize you ate a whole bag of chips to urself. hope this helps! and good luck

I've been snacking on things like Cherry Tomatoes, carrots, celery with peanut butter on them, and, well yesterday I had M&Ms
Thanks for the advice! I'm just afraid that even with snacking on healthier type foods, I'm still intaking more calories!

Do not keep any fattening sweet snacks on hand as if it is not available you just won't be tempted. Keep thinking how cute you look with the weight off, and how you worked so hard to achieve this goal.
This will remind you of unhappy you will get if you pile back the pounds and one other thing to remember is that if you gain the weight especially via sweet snacks there is a great chance you will end up with double the weight. That in itself should remind you of your goal.
Good luck and stay healthy.

right, my mom tells me the saying all the time "out of sight out of mind" if the fattening sugary snack are there, you are more likely to eat them even tho u can stand there with the cupboard door open saying to yourself "dont eat the cookies you dont need them" you will still eat them after you walk away because they will be on ur mind until u finally eat one, ive been down that road a million times.
