Have you ever gotten an ugly gift from your significant other?

Has your girlfriend/wife or husband/boyfriend ever bought you an ugly gift? Usually it is clothes, but these days it could be anything like a hat, or a musical tie (shudder). What did you tell them when you saw it? Did you lie and say you liked it? Did you ever wear it for their benefit or did you just get rid of it? Did you ever ruin it on purpose but make it look like an accident so you won't have to wear it?
I'm just asking because I'm curious if in a relationship you should lie about an ugly gift?

All of the gifts from my beau I really appreciate it and there is nothing I could say ugly. He gave me roses that was wrapped in newspaper and that is the first roses I received in my entire 29 yrs. I find it so beautiful even if it was wrapped in an ordinary newspaper.

That is super sweet! That is nice to know that your beau has wonderful taste and knows what you like.

He is indeed sweet and its the thought that counts most of the time. So I really appreciate his gifts for me.

Yes, several times even. We just don't have the same taste AT ALL! I didn't lie, since that would probably have caused me to get more gifts like that, so I told him I didn't like it.

awwww that is funny. How did he take it? Was he upset? Or was he understanding? You have a point about if you lie you might get more gifts the same.

yes, I have. When I was married my significant other bought me a birthday gift that really hurt me. I won't tell you what it was. It is too embarrasing. I will never forget or forgive me. It was very selfish and self serving of him. I wasn't there too long after I received it so it didn't get much use.
