I've read recently an article discussing about the best time to study. According to what I've read, best time to memorize is before going to sleep. Why? They say that when you go to sleep your mind remembers more what you have studied. On the other hand, if you want to formulate great ideas, they say that the best time is during mornings. However they noted that reading in bed won't do you any good, 'cause you'll tend to go to sleep.
Do you believe in it?

I always study in my room though I don't have a study table and such. So I resort to studying on my bed and I've proven countless times that the bed really induces sleep. Anyway, the best time for me to study is in the wee hours like 3-5 am. I just find that I'm able to retain whatever I study when I read them in those hours. My mom told me that this is because my brain is fresh from the organizing it did when I was sleeping. And I think she's right.

Yeah. I've also slept a lot of times reading in bed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I have got something built up in the back of my mind that the traditional studying methods are pretty useless in actually learning the information. Regardless of what time of the day it is. There might be some quick looking over, but over the years, I have pretty much avoided mindlessly pouring over books and notes and old assignments and the like for hours on end. Still, that does not mean that I go into the exams blindly. Far from it.
The best time to study is when you are actually are taking the class. Yeah, take notes and it will reinforce what the teacher is saying. Writing it down is going to make it stick a bit better. If I don't write something down, it might as well have just been ejected from my brain about five minutes later, right when I leave the class. I do agree that trying to study before you go to bed is not good at all. After all, you will be just wanting to go to bed and not really studying. So it will not do you any good at all.

when i was in college, as far as i can remmeber, i only study if it's needed. heheheh. bad huh. but i do read textbooks from time to time but only if i feel like. i have a short term memory maybe that's why. i only study everything 3-4hours before examination to keep it all in my head.. any place will do as long as no people walking around in front of me. i get distracted easily..

The best time for learning zbout the problems already discussed. Some people support the morning to learn, some people support the study by night,I tend to study at night,I belong to the particular person can stay up late, but let me get up early and a bit difficult. One day at a time when the brain most active, the reaction is faster. To do some science and engineering learning is more suitable.I personally think that the morning hours thinking more slowly, look at some of the visual image for the class to learn.

Though I am no longer a student yet I feel that I should share some ideas about study hours. I started my post graduate studies when I was 40yrs old with 4 kids in the house.I was doing a job for which I was busy for the entire day. Therefore the only time left to me is the night. After attendin the night college till 9PM and reach homey 10PM.Then after taking dinnetr hurriedly I used to start my studies. But soon I fel sleep. This went on for some time and one day my told me to get up early and start studies.I followed his advise. It worked wonders. I started going to bed early and get up 4.30 or 5.00 AM and after a cup of tea I started studying. Therefore I can say with authority that early hrs of the day is the best for studies. In our Hinduism also that part of the day is Brahma Muhurtham and Brahma being the husband of Godess Saraswathi is considered to bless the student.Aprt from mytholology in the first hours of the day the mind is very fresh after taking fullo rest in the previous night. In the ancient days the brahmacharies ie students grew turf on their heads .As they getup very early to study they they used to tie up their tuft to the roofing with a thread and whenever they slept unintentionally the thread used to pull them to wakefulness. Is it not a good idea?

I think I agree with that study. When I study for a hard test before I go to sleep, I always find myself trying to solve test questions in my sleep. I would wake up troubled because I had been trying to organize facts in my head Of course, this is one extreme but I think you do retain information better before you rest.

Let i tell you when is my best time. My best time to study is in the early morning and what i mean by that is between the period of midnight to four o clock. But when i have school the next day, it would be between the period of 10 o clock to 2 o clock then i would go to bed after. But still not because it is the best time you would see me doing everytime and the only time. I will study as long as i am in the comfort of my home when nobody is home. I hate to study when people is around me. That is just me.

The best time to study varies from person to person. When I was in medical school, my classmates studied for the whole day and they dont think about sleeping anymore. In my case, I always think about getting a good sleep and study before I go to bed. That's the best thing for me to do.

Yeah my boys got their exams this week. I reviewed them in the evening in our bedroom , then they had fallen asleep and what can I do? hehehe. Better review in their study table and promising that you will let them use computers or watch tv after they are done. And one more thing that I experience when I was a student. I always review very early like 3-6 a.m. it's effective really. But you must sleep early also so you will not be sleepy while taking your exams.
