China claims most of South China Sea as its territorial waters

It looks like China is now becoming more arrogant in its assertion that most of South China Sea, including the disputed oil-rich areas called Paracel Islands and of course the Spratly islands...Belongs to them only.
If you look on the world map...Spratly islands are just a few miles off Palawan, Philippines. How in the hell China thinks it belongs is them is mind-boggling.
This area has long been disputed by many Asian countries, including us. But this is the first time a country says there are no negotiations when it comes to its claim is downright outrageous...
Which I think is why Vietnam I think made the right decision, when it renewed ties with the United States to modernize their navies and military capabilities.
Which brings to another question: why do some of our senators think we should junk the VFA at this crucial times when we should be strengthening our alliance with United States, not destroy it. Just think about Vietnam. They used to be the mortal enemies of America. Now they are like close buddies, economically and militarily.
I think the Philippines should also strengthened its capability to defend its territory against foreign aggression...And the right way is what Vietnam is doing.

Filipinos are too nice. If we followed what Marcos has brought to our country when he was not sick yet. We might still be one of the top countries in Asia.

I believed if only Marcos wasn't so Power hungry crap, we wouldn't be in this situation. besides, it's the fault of both us and the government. I have seen countries rise, but not us and we are very much close to them. we had our chance after the EDSA 1 but still things were tough. as time goes by people have lost the love for their country, even fr those who love teh Philippines, they chose to leave and work for a greenier pasture.
of course, green peace, don't worry we still have US and other nations to fight for us..

What I mean when I said sick is when he turned into a bad leader, I believe it started in his second term when he failed. look at his projects that are still working until today. Can you compare that to the later presidents?
Here are some of them:
LRT, that many people still rely on today.
Geothermal power plants, which saved us so much money from buying coal.
North and South Luzon expressway
NAIA
Philippine Kidney center
Philippine Heart Center
Philippine Lung Center
Nayong Pilipino
Cultural Center of the Philippines
Folk Arts theater
Philippine film center
He is also the only Philippine president who brought us to the highest level, just second to Japan. We almost got Sabah, which is now part of Malaysia. And now, we can't even control Mindanao.

I am a Chinese.China will never be a threaten to any country.Does anyone see Chinese soldier somewhere outside China like many others?Does anyone see Chinese warships anywhere outside China? My government has announced our army is to protect our country not to invade others. We only take what belongs to us.How many treasures others has taken from my country,China will never let this happen again.I didn't mean to be so rude, but there is something about my country,I have to.

"We only take what belongs to us" - yeah right, so dont take the Spratly Islands because any of them doesnt belong to your country.
And just because the South China Sea has your country's name in it doesnt mean it belongs to your country, again.
Yes China will never let a lot of things happen...Like say have their countrymen talk openly against the government. The last ones ended up with a bullet to the head right?

Envy and Greed for China. Pride for the Senators and other people who is not in favor with VFA. I still believe if Philippines is one of the States of United States, things will be better in the Philippines. But still, I totally respect other people's opinion and views. We have our own beliefs.

The sleeping giant is awake and now we are feeling its weight or it is starting to make its presence felt. If the world is not careful, there will come a time that China will control everything, if it isn't yet. I think China already rules the Philippines.

I believe that NoyNoy's first trip abroad is to the USA.
The USS George Washington was here last summer and the unfortunate calamities have only served to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
Here is an interesting fictional event that I think is highly improbable as I've stated on their site:

Hello greenpeace,
Well, they (government) started doing this when our government is becoming corrupt, does our military slowly starts to deteriorate, not to mention they are now second economically powerful than japan.
i have research and it is troubled because it's too far away from china and it's a bit. but i remember during arroyos time that Vietnam did had a small irritation when china and Philippines had a meeting about this island. were going weak and that's why their government had been aggressive into this.
