This is the saying, but do you think that it is true.A friend of mine is that kind of person,as i think that alot of people tend to relax more when they have had a drink and that is when they tell you all that is true, also what other people have been saying aswell as what they have said or things that they have done in the past.

I think it is true. After a few drinks , Some people can let their guard down and let their true feelings come out. Thank G-d I don't drink, lol! I am usually nice but I fear I would be a total b!tch under the influence.

I use to go out having a social drink alot of the time with a few friends, aswell as have a few friends over at mine for a drink, but i know when to stop drinking thankfully, aswell as i can remember all the things that are said.I do know not to drink vodka as that is not good if someone starts trouble in a pub as that is when i join in,so no vodka for me.

I do tend to think that this is right because when a person has been drinking (even just a little bit), they aren't nearly as guarded as they typically are. I know that there have been times that I have been around people that have been drinking and they will confide things at that time. Then later they won't be able to believe that they confided those things in me or in anyone else for that matter. They do say that people are impaired when they've been drinking for a reason.

WHen one is drunk, people tend to talk more, speak up as well as sharing their innermost feelings.. I guess when they are drunk, they wont be able to control themselves, their speech as well as their actions.. There's advantage and disadvantage when one is drunk, because out of 10 sentences from them, maybe one 1 of those is the truth, while the rest are nonsense.. haha =D

I find some people rather funny when they have had a few drinks and they are up for a laugh, but when a person drinks more than they can handal is not great for them as they tell anyone aswell as everyone the things that perhaps they should not have repeated

Hi, jugsjugs. I have heard of this saying a few times before. It is true. It seems like when a person is heavily intoxicated, they tend to say things that they have been holding in for so long. They will reveal many secrets. They are not in their right minds. That is why, it is best to not drink heavily, a person may never know what they may say. After all of the secrets are out, they will regret what they have said out in the open.

I think people have less inhibitions when they have been drinking. I donĀ“t know if they speak the truth or just say absurd things. We normally tend to filter our speech and will not say certain things, for instance confidences. But it also depends on how much you drink and how you drink. There are also some people who will be more silent than ever or even very sad. Better not to drink too much!

I have heard that people are their true selves when they have been drinking and I believe this is true. People tend to relax and let their guard down after having a few drinks so yes I believe some truths will come out then. I actually remember a time when I wanted to talk with someone about a serious matter after they had a few drinks in them but they wouldn't talk at that time. Later I found out the answers that I was looking for then and I know now that person didn't want to talk then because they knew the truth would come out.

I think that you are right there as alot of people do tend to let their guard down, after a few drinks. Also they think that anything that they have said or done will all be forgotton about,or that they are going to blame what has been said or done will be put down to the drink that they had drunk.

When people are intoxicated or under the influence they are more relaxed and have less control over themselves. Their tongues are loosened and they say silly things or things they normally would not say...they also behave in a way they would normally not behave.
It's one thing to get tipsy while celebrating or having a good time but quite another thing to over indulge and totally loose control of yourself and make a fool of yourself and maybe others and to harm yourself and/or others.

I think that if you need to get totally wreckedf to have fun that is rather sad.I use to go out and not drink at all as i was the driver and i had fun and also times when i could drink on a night out i never needed to get totally wrecked to have fun.A few social drinks is great,i like the happy feeling, but i can feel happy with out the drink inside me.

AS the saying goes, you will know everything with the person as long as he or she became drunk. My father is like that, when he is drunk all his secrets are reveiled. Actually when he was drunk one time we finally know what is the reason why he lost a job. And when he was not drunk, we asked him the real reason why he was lost his job, he said he resigned but that was a different answer we came to know when he was drunk. It gives me an idea, that I think can be helpful with police, why not let the suspect be drunk on time of interrogation, rather than hurting them to tell the truth. Hassle free, but alcholic drinks is on.

Hey jugs! Yes, people who are drunk do tend to "tell the truth"
because they are no longer inhibited and tend to let their guard
down to an extent. It may not always be what they mean to say
or what you necessarily what you want to hear either! And the
worst part of it is they may not even remember saying it when
you confront them when they are sober!

I don't really know. I've never been around anyone who was drunk. I suppose they could be less careful about what they say.

i don't get drunk so personally i wouldn't know, but my opinion is,you should be a strong enough person to tell people things without having a drink first, and if you're not then keep your mouth shut as you won't be strong enough to deal with the conciquences after everyones sobered up,,maybe i'm wrong

I think that it is soo sad that there are people out there that have to get themselves really wrecked just to have a good time.I think that there are some people out there that think they can handle their drink, only to find out constantly that they can not.I think that when people sober up they think that all that has been said and done will all be forgotten about, because they try to blame it on the drink.

I am saying the amount of people that THINK that THEY can handle drink, knowing that they can not,who has too much to drink knowing that they can not drink that much on a good day are the ones that seem to only be able to have fun when totally drunk, that and their mouth takes over.

I agree with everybody and I'd say also that a drunk person often reveals his true nature. I remember a guy, he was part of a croud of heavy drinking people - we were young at the time. At the parties there were no big revelations, everybody just were having fun. But this guy used to become angry with no reason, he was harrassed his friends etc. And when he was sober he seemed a good person.

I think that when people are drink their inhibitions are lowered and they are more apt to speak the truth and talk about things they wouldn't regularly. I think sometimes the truth wants to come out but because a person doesn't want to start something or doesn't want to hurt any feelings they don't say anything. Then after a couple of drink they get their nerve up and say it.

Hi dear,
Yes it is true. When a person becomes drunk they tends to release all those pent up emotions that they have been keeping from God knows how long. They also feel a sense of freedom to speak their mind because of the environment they created when they drink. They always say if you want to know if a person was lying to you before just wait until they are drunk then asked them about the same thing and see if you get the same answer. A drunken person tells no lie.

yes, i believe in this saying because i've seen two drunken friends talking to each other and revealed things that we never knew they kept from us. actually only one was revealing and since that we asked questions which they answered in all honesty. maybe they do get to that relaxed feeling when they get drunk. but then drunk people usually have this black out that they can't remember it.
