Something Positive

I recently got some feedback from someone on mylot regarding my blog. They said they would like to see me say something positive instead of complaining about everything. My blog is just something fun I like to do complaining about whatever happens to come across my path. Well to my "goodpal" even though I am not sure who you are on mylot here goes: What am I thankful for: I am thankful to wake up every morning still alive and breathing. I am thankful for having a wonderful family, husband, most of the time and my son all of the time. Included in that family is my in-laws who I love dearly consider my friends and get along with which for most people is hard to do. I am thankful for my great big wonderful golden retriever. I am blessed with some wonderful lifelong friends and wonderful neighborhood to live in. Okay, I am done, now tell me some things you are grateful for and then I go back to my normal complaining mode......

I am most thankful to God for giving me reasons why I need to learn form all my good and bad experiences in life, also thankful to God he gave me my wonderful children, which I love more than I love me. I am grateful to my boyfriend who thankfully is still around even during my hardest times in my life. You, and a couple other myLot friends for letting me vent day in and day out which I truly feel that totally understand my circumstances. Me, sometimes grateful that I am still breathing and thankfully God allows me day in and day out.

Forgot to add isn't your blog a complaint blog, so adding thankfulness on their would defeat it's purpose.

I know you feel that some of us help and inspire you. I don't know if I have said this or not but you inspire me everyday and I am sure others also. The fact that you have not given up, are plugging away everyday inspires me to do the same.

All of us are entitled to our own blogs right? And no matter what we post, as long as it abides the terms of the site, is our own business. I think whoever commented on your blogs just wants attention or something. He (or she) shouldn't care what you write in it, because hey, if he doesn't want to read them, then he shouldn't visit your site right? Either he craves attention, or thinks he's a online guru or something. Sorry for feeding your fire, it's just that, it also annoys me whenever someone comments negatively on my posts. I mean, if you don't want the topic, then don't visit it, period. You don't have to tell everyone online that you don't like the topic.

I am still not sure who the person was but he or she was not really being overly critically, I think they just wanted to see both sides of the picture. But you are really right, my blog is for me to write whatever I want to write about, hence the topic and it being my blog. Thank you for your support....

It's ok. Just do what you think is right. What other people comment is their own problem. They just lack of that something that's all.

I'm a complainer too most of the time. I'm usually always stressed out at life in general, and I was raised by a woman who complained about everything. Her favorite saying was "You'd complain if you were hung by a golden rope" and that pretty much described her. Funny thing is.. I usually don't like to listen to (or read about) other people's complaints. (Though I am not the one who posted anything about your blog!). Most of the time I feel like other people's complaints are rather petty. I mean there are people out there with so much more reason to complain than I have, or than most people have.. so when someone complains to me I just feel like pointing out how some others may have it worse. It's especially irritating when I have it worse yet they're complaining about something stupid. Most especially when it comes to kids or money.. unless you have more kids than me or less money than I do then you'd better just shut it around me, lol. I do try to remember to count my blessings often.. and I'm getting in the habit of saying something positive when I complain about someone.. such as "I know my husband tries his best but I get so irritated when..."

katsmeow- I love your blatant honestly I really appreciate it. I understand exactly what you mean, kind of like a skinny person saying they are fat and need to be on a diet, have no tolerance for that kind of nonsense either. The complaints on my blog are just petty and silly, just daily annoyance stuff, that ruffles my feathers. I am going through a lot more stuff than these daily things but still like getting them off my chest.

my dear fen... aurorastorm... looks like you had all planed how to make use of your blog... :-)cz even your username suggest storm... :-) by the way it is a good news for you that you got such comments asking you to post more positive response... the good news is that.. U GOT SOME COOL FOLLOWERS.. U CAN ATTRACT OR MAKE PEOPLE TO FOLLOW YOUR DAILY DISCUSSION..... thats the plus point.. hats off to you.... but the sad part is whenever we are complaining about something you 1st of all convince you mind that whatever it is ,it is disturbing your peaceful mind... so you get convinced and then you put it in the form of word in the blog..... so your whole mind set is getting more and more negative..... but i hope am wrong about this ... anyway nice quotes....

I know what you are saying about the negativity. I think for me I have found that writing it out gets it out of my mind and then I no longer am thinking about. So I actually think it helps keep me in a better frame of mind.

I could not agree more. I have a blog of my own too. You should not care what others think of your blog because it is your own personal diary. If you are a negative person then it will show in your blog. Your blog is the reflection of your thoughts. But other people should not complain of you being negative because it is none of their business. Also, most of the blogs that I know are composed of things that we are sad about. We are venting our emotions mostly bad ones through our online diaries or blogs. Writing is one way of healing. As for my blog, I only share it with few friends of mine that are sensitive. I also have a blog that I never share with anyone so I would not care what others might think of it. That is all I have to say.

These are very good points. When I started my blog is was for me. I needed a place to practice my writing and also a place where I could get stuff off my chest. I think writing things out actually puts me at ease. So like you said it is for me and if someone does not like it then they have the freedom to not follow it and not read it.

I think that we are all entitled to some moans and groans - and sometimes it's more than others. Happen to be in that frame myself at the moment. Just haven't written much about it!

I just keep writing about it more and more, thinking that the more I get it out, the less stress I might feel. I think I am a good person, but things really do annoy me on a daily basis, think it is better to write about it. Then just be blatantly rude to whomever is bugging me at the time.

I am grateful that I am what I am. I am grateful for the bad and good things that come my way - the bad things mostly came to remind me to care more to others. I am grateful that I am alive.

Your blog is your diary...ok , it is not private and you choose to let other people read it...If they wish to, no-one forces them to read it - it is totally their choice and if this person feels you are negative/complaining/whatever then why do they read it? lol .( It's a bit like complaining about TV programmes when you have the remote control in your hands!) We all have choices and you choose to vent in your blog, and obviously this person chooses to read it. I think it is good that you have a vehicle to get rid of your emotions and feelings in this way, it could be worse - you could be storing them up inside and getting angey with the people in your life.I often have a moan about lifes little gripes and problems..it doesn't make me a negative pertson, it means I have got them off my chest! Now, what am I grateful for...my supportive family, my lovely pets, my friends, that I have food, shelter...and freedom to have a moan when I wish to :o)

that's why it is called a blog, because you want to share your feelings and thought!! yet people shouldn't sit here and judge of what you write or share, maybe you needed to get something off your chest! so whats wrong with that? don't let others get to you hun! take care
