I used to work at a Dunkin' Donuts, and it always astounded me how many people would come in in a terrible mood and then would be very friendly and talkative after they took a few sips out of their coffee. Many customers would come in as if coffee was a need for them, like they couldn't live without it. And I'd have to say that only 5% (if even that) of customers ordered decaf coffee. I think that coffee will eventually be recognized as the new cigarette for our society. I know many people who say that they get headaches or don't feel well if they don't get their cup of coffee in the morning. The reason is probably because they have a caffeine addiction, and they are experiencing a withdrawal. I would think that feeling physically bad after not getting a cup of coffee would ring a safety bell for most people, but nope, they all go on in their lives completely ignoring it. Do you get coffee (caffeine) withdrawals?

I noticed some people in United States consumes coffee in gallons per day and I believe it is normal for them to be addicted since they consume that much in just a day. I think that people who drink coffee everyday develop a resistance to the caffeine in coffee and then they feel that the usual amount that they are consuming is not enough so they tend to drink more coffee. Coffee is a healthy drink but of course if you abuse it you'll be in bad shape. I don't drink coffee all the time but I do when I need some energy boost. Coffee doesn't really give me energy but it makes my reaction time much better. I learned the effects of coffee in our nervous system it is beneficial unless you have high tolerance to caffeine.
