Do you blame God when things go wrong? Like one's marriage ending in a divorce

or when one's results did not warrant a placing in a good school. Or one's family members being injured in a horrible car accident. The list is truly endless. Remember Job? He has every right to blame God for the many bad things that befell upon him but as described in the Bible, Job refrained from blaming God for his woes. Do you think God has every right to make our lives miserable? Will you blame God for all the bad things that happen to you in life or you see that God has some other plans for you. Your view on this please.

Last Sunday service our preacher preached about Job. If we are going to read the book of Job its whole chapter you will understand why he came to the point that he blamed GOd and after it he refrained. It was written in Job 1:1. "There was a man in the land of UZ, whose name was Job; and that man was PERFECT and UPRIGHT, and one that FEAR God, and eschewed evil. Job was perfect and upright, God has not found him perfectly and faithfully serving Him. We may think that God made His life miserable, yet He never did it. It was satan whose made Job's life miserable and you know why? Satan is an accuser, he does'nt want any of will perfectly obeying and follow God's will. So satan asked God's permission to test Job if he will not turn his face to God if he will live his life miserable of the most miserable life one could ever live. He had boils, and had worm in it. He lost all his wealth, all his sons and daughters, even his friends and his wife told him to turn away from God. maybe with his sufferings as a person came to blame God, but after it he repent of what he said. WHY? because we have no right to question God, even blaming him. All things worked together for good to them that love God. In Job's life God had proven that Job was really a faithful servant,. why we should ask God WHY? have we ever try to ask ourselves what to do? have we observed and obey His will?.Sometimes we ask God why this thing happened? why i'm in pain? why, why, why? Turn first your face to God, ask your self, what you are doing in your life as a Christian. Assess yourself, maybe you're in trials. Trials makes US strong. .As a true Christian, i know i don't have the right to blame or question God. He is perfect, He is great and His love is pure and perfect. He never fails. Sometimes it seems He's not around or He left us. That's what we only feel. Trust His hurt.

Thanks blue-raine for your sharing. In times of distress, our faith has to pull us through. Hopefully we can be like a Job and shoulder on and perhaps not be like the naysayers of the day who would like to dislodge us in our faith by planting seeds of doubt. Our relationship with God matters.

No. Why would we blame others when we make mistakes! And i mean, of all people, of elements... why blame God?! He is not the one who decided things for us. we have our choices, our own feelings, our own freewill and i guess though he may have wanted things for us, it is always still our decisions that we do - especially if we do not seek his guidance.

hi chiyosan, strangely enough, there are people who actually blame God for putting them in a poor family etc., a disadvantaged starting point. Thanks for sharing.

If we blame God when things go wrong, whom will we credit when things go right? Remember God was not the one responsible for Job's woes and suffering.

hi nancy, yup, when we question God, we probably failed in our rationalising of a situation.

I don't blame God. I blame life. When things go wrong its just apart of life. Its just something that happens and we would need to learn how to deal with it. A lot of people do like to point the blame on other people. I really don't think its right to blame God for our mistakes. For instance if a marriage ends in divorce, who fault is it really? I would blame the married couple for either rushing into a marriage, marrying for money and not love. I would blame then for not making it work. Or it could be that they weren't made for each other. definitely not God fault! happy mylotting!

thanks keshia for your response. I do see there are some amongst us who blame everybody including God but themselves. Is it a case of a bad workman blames his tools. And I feel that some of these people fall into deep depression as if the whole world is against them. Sometimes it is very difficult to communicate with them.

We should not blame God for the bad things happening to us. It is us who should be blamed for all this. If we always blame someone for whatever happens that is not what we expect for then most likely the worst things that will happen will all be blamed to God. Accidents really happen. If it is your time to die then we will have nothing to do about it. Let us just accept the fact that everyone of us will die as well. Let us always expect the unexpected.

hi aaronfyzeon - I think we must not discount the times when a chain of bad things happen to a person and which dislodges his comfort zone and sense of stability. Thanks for your sharing.

I dont blame God for the troubles in life. I blame my own choices along the way. If I do something that I am not supposed to do, knowingly of not somewhere along the road it will trip me. That is all my doing mostly. But then there are the occasions that I believe that you have gotten to a place that may be uncomfortable, scary or seemingly just terrible and its lesson is for others learning.

Why does mankind love BLAME so much??? With all the energy mankind wastes on blame, they could have that problem solved. I don't care about blame. I work toward the results!!

hi bird123, thanks for responding. Whilst working towards the end-result, there can be a lot of people complaining and blaming also. We have to be mindful of our place in the universe and strive to improve our lot in life, good or bad.

All the bad things that happens to us due to our own fault, because of wrong choices we make. After all God had given us a free will and we were unable to make good use of it. How then God is to be blamed for every bad thing that happens to us.

thanks achilles for your reply. Sometimes 'bad' things in the short-term can be 'good' thing at the end of the day. So, a spirit of acceptance and gratitude is something we should strive for to bring us perhaps closer to God whoever you perceive Him to be.

No i dont. Because everyone is responsible for his or her own action. Not unless it is God who tells you to do an action then would end up being bad. But I doubt that would happen because God only wants the best for you and would'nt do anything to harm you. He plans to give you a hope and a future.

well said kharlav and thanks for sharing. Men just sometimes have their own ideas and pursue their own desires.

When things start to go wrong, people start to become religious, is that a good thing? Would God like to have more followers because they have more problems or less believers with lesser problems?

yup, i note that people tend to seek God only when they are in trouble or have problems. A sort of genie. The intentions of the individual should be established. I think God would like a person with a true and humble heart who seek Him - with or without problem.

i don't blame God for all the miseries i have. Because I know that He wants me to be a strong woman.everything happens for a purpose & everything happens because of the decisions you made or you choose. I only ask for His guidance and strength so that I can carry all the burdens He gave me.

well said lexclark - there is this element of free will that God has given to us and we should exercise this with care.
