Oh my God! I need a macbook pro however, i'm having a hesitation. My clients used to send me Microsoft office files. Fine, I can open it on my macbook. However, I am afraid that they cannot open the files I am sending...
Well, as I understand, I can save iWork files as MS Office files...Hoping I am correct. This is my first time to buy an apple lappy.

If I am not mistaken aren't you suppose to find out what systems they have and save files to the lower setting so that they can open it.
For example if I have microsoft 2010, but you only have microsoft 2003. Then when I save my file I have to save as microsoft 2003, or you will not be able to open it.
Maybe I am way off base, but thought I may be able to help?? Good Luck

The great thing about your problem is your getting a mac... even if I work isn't compatible there's an app for that... there's an app for almost anything... I love my macbook and I did purchase microsoft but only because I took a microsoft based class cant really follow the function directions if things aren't in the right place. If I were you I would try it without buying office and then if a client has a problem go out and get it after the fact...

May I suggest MS Office for Mac? :)
I use it almost daily and never had any problems, I can save files just like I would do on a Windows computer.
Using a Mac doesn't mean you have to hate everything with 'MS' in their name... I think this is the best solution, especially if you're already familiar with Office.
Just remember that PowerPoint 2008 for Mac has a little issue: you can't draw animation paths, but all the other animations work perfectly. About iWork, all I can say is that it's got better graphics and effects, but nothing more, so I can't see why you should prefer it.
