If cellphones or "mobile phones" ( which I call them ) suddenly disappeared I would not care at all. I can live without mine for sure. A lot of people can get so addictive to it and swear they could not live without it. Which is so wrong to think like that. It is just a phone!

Hi MademoiselleEma, cellphone has become the essential communication device for us to keep close contact with others conveniently nowadays. I find it's really safe if having my cellphone with me all the time especially when I'm away from home. For I could keep in touch with my dear and close ones at anytime and anywhere if it's necessary. And I keep some important particulars in my cellphone so that I could have further refer handily whenever needed.

Hi MademoiselleEma!.
I think if I don't bring my cellphone I feel lost. I don't like waiting without do any thing.
I can do many thing with my cellphone, listening music or playing game when I bored or sending text message for my old friend. The most important thing if I need something urgent I can call someone to bring it to me.

Im gonna have to go look for that post. I missed it. IM sure cell phone would have been on my list too. Mainly because I have to have my games that I play on my phone wherever I go. Reason being I spend alot of time in the car waiting on my boyfriend and I play the games on my phone to pass the time. Games like Chuzzle and Bookworm. I

Cellphone is important or have become important in most of our lives because its the easiest means of communication. You can just carry mobile phones in hand, store them in your handbags or even your pockets and when you want to call or send someone a message, just pop out your cell phone and then your message will then be delivered thru sms or a single phone call. That simple. It has become gradually important because of how useful and helpful it is with regards to emergency situations. I can't imagine my life without cellphones anymore because of how it makes me feel that no matter how far I am from someone, I know that in seconds, with just a call away, I can talk to the person and feel as if we're just beside each other.

Cellphone is important for me. If there are any accidents or something urgent, at least I can try to ask for help in a short time. Perhaps this is the most important usage of the cellphone. I always bring my cellphone. If I forget to bring it with me, I will feel I have missed many important calls.

My cell phone is completely and totally always attached to me. I feel naked without it, haha! I have some friends that I don't ever want to stop texting and if I do stop texting them, they start to get worried! One day I lost my phone and had 16 new text messages and 3 missed calls. I don't think I could imagine my life without a cellphone, which is shocking because about 4 months ago I didn't have one and I didn't see myself with one any time soon!
I'm on myLot to pay for my texting. :]

There are reasons why we need cellphones but one of my reason is sometimes i walk by something that i wish i could take a picture of when i don't have my camera along. Since i have my cellphone with me, i could take pictures. :)

Cellphone not really important to me. I seldom use it for texting, calling, etc. My life pretty much online. Maybe when I got a job, I will use it more often. For now not really important, but a-must-have in case of emergency.

Here are many reasons why cell phones are important:
1. Emergencies. This is a big one because when the Virgina Tech (VT) killings happened. Thanks to the few students who had texting, the authorities were able to find out what was going on and they were able to get to the university before things got worse. I believe cell phones saved some lives that day.
2. Your in an accident.
3. Your friend or someone else is in an accident.
4. You need to talk to someone, but there are no pay phones or phones around.
5. They are just convenient. You don't have to worry about finding a place to call someone, or finding a pay phone, you have one with you.

Hi MademoiselleEma, We can all live without a cell phone, I did for over sixty years and I don't have one at the moment, although my wife does. I had a cell phone for the past five or six years but decided to give it up about a month ago and I really don't miss it. There are a lot of things that we feel we can't live without but there are many people in the world doing it. By the way, I think my wife would also have her cell phone in the top five. Blessings.

I don´t own a cellphone. I think people use cellphones too much and overrate their importance. Some communications must be done while looking at each other´s eyes, as I see it. I also see many people driving and using cellphones and it is dangerous.
I have had a cellphone but after I had it I found out that it didn´t help me as much as I wanted to.
My difficulties in life will not be changed with or without a cellphone. They even include too soft fingernails (Is it lack of calcium, I ask myself?.
About your other discussion: I would probably put coffee, a good nail scissor, paper hankies, my meds
Luck and happy posting!

Yes I am one of them to say that cell phone is a must for every one.In modern times you cannot imagine life without cell phone.I am an old man and I am very conservative. I do not think I Pod or even TV is a necessity for modern living. In earlier days our parents or grand parents lived without TV or I Pod and even without cell phone. They lived happily without any of these things. The days have changed so radically that we have to move out of house not only frequently but also to far off places. That makes all the difference.Nobody stays in the house either husband or the wife and even children. In those days only men used to go out of the house not very frequently and also not to far off places.Te family members could be in touch with each. It is not so now.So the cell phone plays a very important role in connecting people whenever they want and where ever they may be.Of all the modern amenities enjoyed by people with the advancement of science I feel that cell phone is the most important instrument available to all.
