I am new to oDesk. I just (1-2 days) applied for 5 jobs in oDesk. But I still not receive any interview calls. What shall I do?

count me in.., I am also new to odesk and got no clue how does it works.. I've read it's FAQs page but it's way too complicated and their terms of contract are really tight.., I'm not so sure if I would want to pursue my time there..+)

I agree with the other mylotters, you should not just depend on one website to look for income opportunities online. There are a lot of other sites you can work on while waiting for an interview or you can continue to look for other income opportunities online. I used to apply for odesk jobs, but for me, I find it more time consuming, it doesn't fit my schedule since I can only go online a few minutes at a time during office breaks, so I just stayed with mylot since here, you only have a spend a few minutes per discussion

Try doing something else while you wait for an interview in odesk. You have a lot of competition in that site. So I suggest you to develop your skills in the area you would like to pursue in odesk. Create portfolio and sample works for your clients references.

While waiting for the results of your applications, you can always apply to more jobs. Anyway, you can always reject them later on or decline the interview if ever there will be better opportunities. Take my advice, I have 16 pending applications, 1 pending interview and 3 ongoing contracts there. But I am still not stopping, and still applying for more. Even have time to mylot :) As I have always heard and also say: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. There are a lot of options available on the net. I am also a freelance writer so I check out the 6 online websites I work for on a daily basis just to see if there are good orders available. If there are none, I can also write articles for Triond, Bukisa and other writing sites where I can post. If I am really "vacant" or without anything to do, that's the time I go to my website and make my blogposts. I'm really not that busy :D

You should try to look for other ways to earn money. Have your tried cloudcrowd or microworkers?
