Actions speak louder than words! I prefer to look more at the actions a religion produces rather than their propaganda. I look for people in the neighborhood who practice a certain religion and ask: if the whole world lived this way would the world be a better place? If the answer is no, I would look for another one.
We have only one planet where life is abundant. A religion must be global and think globally and seek world pace and unity. Unity can only come by peace. The true religion would possess no weapons. If the God a religion worships cannot protect the religion then that God is a fake.

The Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Since most of us don't read those languages we have to rely on translations into English, the language I'm most comfortable with.
The Bible has been translated by many different people over the centuries and that is why there are the different versions, some being better than others.
I personally possess about 20 different translations and have access to about 20 more via internet. By comparing I'm able to come to the best translation of the verse. Since the basic message of the Bible is to love God and love our neighbor, I look for the religion that has the most followers that live those commands.
In my book, if a religion participates in war than I view that religion as not following Jesus' footsteps as he commanded us to love our enemies. How can one kill an enemy and love him at the same time? He has not given authority to kill our enemies. That's his job, not ours!

I think if there is a verse coming from a new international version in religion, the "key" is far away from being consistent. By no means religion discredit, the very simple thing to fit the keyhole, the key must meet the requirements as I have written above. That's the very best thing to do as a contemplation before going to sleep at night.
Thank you.

Yeah. I agree. And there are many religions out there that teach questionable, full of mistakes, and illogical doctrines, and the members of their church remain in darkness.

It's only a suggestion. The things to decide whether it's the key:
1. Of its divinity concept, it's logical and acceptable
2. Of its holy book, it's unmistakable, free from man's interference
3. Of its teaching, urges its to muse, not only accept.
Those're objective.

What if I say it's Islam and no doubt about it? If you disagree, the reason, please.

You're free to analyze an analogy, but that's not a big deal, anyway.
Thanks.

It is logical because if the key does not fit the keyhole the lock will not open. You have to ensure two things, i.e., if the room is really locked and do you have the right key. Alternatively, you are in the wrong room with the right key

Everyone now can see what his "key" is like. It's objective. I don't know if you can get the point. Usually, you'll come up with an argument talking about the weird "key owner".
But I know you're a good man.

I understood friend what you mean and that is why I said, Jesus is the right key for kingdom of heaven. Believe in him to have eternal life. He himself said, "I am the way". He might not be right key for all but for those who believe in him for them he is the right key.

Just as I thought so. Not so many people can get the point of the "key owner", barber or doctor's analogy in logical context of divinity. Only Allah matches it, undoubtedly.
Thanks anyway.

Unquestionable looks like religions request for blind faith. Not applicable to my spiritual belief.
I am in a lighted room because I have faith that my religion has all the answers.

No compulsion to agree with me. This discourse is mainly for God seekers.
Thanks for commenting.

Atheists are not in a dark room, They just don't need the path of religion. I agree that the correct religion fulfills your needs and answers your questions.

man2sting the way we use religion is the key that opens the door, relgion itseld is just a bunch of words til we put it into practice. I should not even answer these religious discussions as they almost always turn ugly and I get flamed or insulted. so just do not do it to me or I report.

There you go again, Hatley. See the context. You don't have to comment if you disagree.
You and anybody commenting here are honorable guest to me.
Best wishes.

Thanks, but humanity still can't refrain from such interests and desire.
