Why people keep saying "I LOVE YOU" to anyone even if they really don't? ? ?

I'm just 17 years of age... "I LOVE YOU" is a sacred word for others but then this word can be heard anywhere... ? ? ? thanks for any opinions ! ! ! :)

My friend you are just 17 and hence you think like that, i ahve a 4 year old and i have thought him to say i love you whenever he goes i out of my sight, like going to school and i have even done that with my husband, whenever he calls me and before hanging up, we always end up saying i love you. You see the logic is that life is too short and unpredictable and i do not want leave the World without letting my loved ones know that i love them.

but there's a lot of people saying "I LOVE YOU" eventhough they don't really feel that love to the person :( why they are saying those words even if they don't actually mean???
