911 is undoubtedly a grueling experience for most people, especially those immediate families. But the hoopla about a mosque being erected near the place is uncalled for. I am a Christian, but I respect everyone's human right. If the group that wants to build the mosque got the property legally, then they should be allowed to build there. The noise people are making about Obama's position is uncalled for. What do you think?

Well, in all fairness, it's not at ground zero, it's near ground zero. And how many mosque's do you think there are in Iraq at one of the hundreds of sites that have bombed back to the stoneage?

If it is not at Ground Zero, yes then but all means proceed with the building of the mosque. I am not aware of how many mosque were at the hundreds of sites that have been bombed. But what I know is, one should not just follow because others have done it before. Beside, being more sensitive especially when it comes to religions and faiths, many bloodshed could have been stopped.

Building a mosque on ground zero is not going to deter the terrorists of the world to stop their activities. It may have an positive impact on the Muslims around the world who are NOT terrorists. I personally have a good number of friends who are Muslims who are faithful to their religion and also to the nations that they are citizens of. In fact if it all the religions of the world are allowed to build their temples on ground zero, it would only make the souls of the people who have lost their lives in that ghastly attack really rest in peace. IF Obama feels the same way...well that's fine but IF.....
Please do not copy my opinion and paste it on some other forum...I have noticed of late that people are copying my comments and posting on other sites and to ensure that there is no trail to the original thread here, are deleting the original thread.

Not all Muslims are bad just like not all Christians are good. Opposition to building a mosque near ground zero is like stereotyping all muslims. I don't see the problem with building one. Isn't it every persons right to believe in their own god? I don't understand why people are making an uproar about this

There's a faction in the political battlefield who will grasp at any straw they can to try and discredit our president. This is purely political with no real basis in fact. The reality is that radical Muslims are just a small, unaccepted faction of the Muslim religion as a whole. Even George W. Bush acknowledged this. Combined with the fact that Obama's words were twisted and spun into an entirely different context than his intent makes this just another partisan ploy to dupe the American people into believing he's a dangerous man. They're using fear as a tool to further their own agenda and it's wrong.
